Buddy, dipping for one more day isn’t going to make it any easier when you finally make the jump. If you’re here, it means you’re got momentum - use that momentum to quit now, because you might not still be feeling it when Sept 1 rolls around.
Most of us here blew through many planned quit dates/ events. I’ll quit when I graduate/ get a new job/ get married/ have a baby/ New Year/ Birthday... Trust me, there’s nothing special about September 1 and that extra time weaning down won’t make it easier on you. It’s actually quite possible, that it will stress you out and deter you from quitting altogether.
So use your momentum, sack it up and drop it all today! Get on Roll and start learning this site. It works, you can do this and it is 100% worth it. Let me know if I can help.
Everything pky is saying here. ^^^, just dump the can now and post your promise in the November group that Jdaculla linked above. Don't think about quitting, don't plan on quitting, JUST QUIT. KTC can help make it happen. I've been here for 752 days after blowing my chance here in 2012. I make that promise early every day and keep my word for the next 24 hours. I have never been nicotine free this long in the previous 36 years give or take. KTC is the reason and when I made my decision to quit, I threw out the last 4.2 cans from the roll I bought the night before.
Yes, yes...Do as these two say. Flush whatever nicotine you have left down the toilet (unless you're on a septic system) regardless, get rid of it. Roll the window down while driving and hold the can outside and let it fly, just get rid if it so there's no chance of you digging it back out of the garbage can (You would, if it was there).
Go to the November group (click the link in Judaculla's post above), find the most recent roll post, click Quote in the upper right hand side, scroll down in the text box until you see "New Bad Ass Quitters Post Your Promise Here" then scroll to the last name in that header and click in the box below them. Type your name, "Day 1" and your promise to remain nicotine for the next 24 hours. KEEP YOUR WORD!!!
Tomorrow morning, wake up, take a piss and then get back on here and post your promise again for the next 24 hours. Keep doing that every day and you will succeed.
Get involved in your group, get to know the other quitters, exchange digits with them and some of the vets (mine are a PM away). Read as much as you can in here about your
addiction, ask questions, tell us how you feel and what you are going through. We have all gone through it and are your best resource for support.
Okay, go post, get some digits (use the phone numbers for instant support if the craves get too bad. CALL SOMEONE)
Let's do this!!
