Sounded like she was quitting for "cosmetic reasons". She didn't like the looks she got. No mention of being sick of being a slave, tired of spending the money, afraid of health risks, etc...just didn't like the looks she got because she was a girl and it bothered her boyfriend. That's not even enough to come back and read the replies, let alone quit. Too bad.

I'm the downer prick today! So here goes, what if your fiancée left tomorrow, what would happen to your quit? For 32 years I made attemps to quit for my wife. Every time she caught me I saw the pain in her face that I cared more about a can of poison than I did for her. Finally, 304 days ago I got it! I quit for me and enjoy the side benefit that she has joined in my satisfaction. I am so proud of my quit and my sweethearts pride isn't too bad either. Quit today for #1!

These guys are right. While your fiancee might be your world, quitting now can save your life. If you truly want to quit, and quit for you, you have found the place to do it. It takes patience and work just like anything else worth fighting for.

Hmmm. Quitting because of the looks you get and the look on your boyfriends face when he sees the looks you get. You want to make him proud...

Answer me this question. If you didn't get any "looks" for being a girl dipper that upset your boyfriend, would you still want to quit?

Welcome and congrats on your choice.

I hate to be a bag full of downers here but you need to prepare yourself in event that he will not be proud of you. Addicts like company and he will most likely be pissed that you are not on the same side of the fence anymore.

Quit for you and only you.
If you choose to be quit, be quit now. This group is for people who are quit today (one day at a time). Nuttin different bout a gal who chews than a guy. I don't think, but I guess that might depend on where you're frum. I am only 35 days quit, after smoking and chewing for 53 years. Since I quit with the April group, I have not been TRYING to quit. I am quit. You be too.
(by the way nicotine can be a very jealous bitch and may try to mess with you and your fiance's deep rooted struggles with addiction. Both of you willo be stronger if you can ignore tne nicotine bitches lies. I would not have understood this 5 weeks ago. Now I have experienced this, so I'll pass it on. Best wishes in your quit life.

Hope I can make him proud and quit
Great intro, but wanted to point out two things:

1) We don't hope we do, either you quit or you don't. One day at a time. Post your pledge early in the morning. Keep your word. Repeat. You will see as the days compile, life gets better. Use this site and read a ton, you will be amazed at how much it will help you with your quit.

2) Make him proud, should be changed to make you proud. Quit for yourself. Quit because of what it does to your health. Quit becasue you hate being chained to the can. He is an anciallary piece of your quit. Is it a bad thing to want to make him proud? No. But you have to quit for yourself.

Welcome to KTC and PM me if you need anything!!!

Good for you on taking your life back and quitting. Day 1 is great. We have all been there. But you should worry about making yourself proud for quitting first and foremost. Not your fiance. Oh and get rid of this hope shit. We don't hope for anything. We work our ass off and do it everyday
