A quick reminder for your post in the general thread:

On nicotine gum -- don't do it. Adding nicotine does not help. If you are feeling anxiety, there are better ways of handling it. You can check the anxiety thread in the "Getting My Act Together" section, or just ask in your group. Anxiety is common. Many get help from their doctor to manage it.
Nicotine is the enemy dude, tobacco is just the delivery vehicle. Don't use any replacements. It just prolongs the misery.

You can do this! We are all here to help. Reach out when you need help!

Good shit. One day at a time. I'm only on day 5, but this time I quit. And I quit with you today. This time feels much different than my previous stops. I'm a Marine Corps Veteran and started putting them cat turds in my lip when I started serving as well. I'm from Indiana as well. Check your PM. This forum and the site holds so many resources and experience to stay quit that it's exciting.

Nice job posting roll! Now the hard part is over! You have quit!

Buckle down and keep your word.

By the way, posting roll is kind of tricky at first. If you mess it up, don't worry about it. Someone will fix it. Just get your name on there daily.

Great decision sir. Very proud for you. Call your wife and tell her. It will make her day.

It won't help me do any of those things. I'm gonna give it my all this time. Hopefully I'll be looking back this time next year and be a quitter.

The above link is your quit group. Go there and post day one. THROW OUT ANY NICOTINE THAT YOU HAVE. Down the toilet. Make sure you got all of it. That post is your promise to yourself and all of us that today you will be nicotine free. Keep your word, soldier. It is clear from your post that you are bad ass, so once you give your word I know you'll keep it.

Tomorrow, as soon as your eyes open (FIRST THING) post day 2. Repeat.

Don't worry about tomorrow today. Just focus on keeping your word. You can do it man. I have total faith... 3 years ago I was in your shoes. Today I am free. There are some bumpy days ahead. So the fuck what? You are a bad ass and nicotine is just a chopped up plant in a can. Today you are winning.

Man, I'm proud as hell to quit with you today

So my names dustin. Recently medically separated from the army after 6 years. Been dipping since I joined. My wife wants me to quit and my son just turned 5 months old a couple days ago. I really want to be around to see him grow. I've tried quitting a couple times before but always went right back to it. It's a horrible time to quit to. I'm under so much stress already. Currently staying with my wife's dad in Canada and will be making the long drive back to Indiana after christmas. Also, the fact I'm looking for a new job at the same time. It scares me to quit because I already have anxiety issues from my service and I'm not looking forward to them getting worse. But I need to quit now.
Will tobacco help you drive?
Will it help you get a job?
Is it a good medication for anxiety?

Most of us felt that nicotine was a great thing in our lives, with the unfortunate cancerous side effects. In truth, it does nothing but take. It takes your hard earned money, it takes your health, but worst of all... And the one that you don't understand until a few months in to your quit... It steals your freedom.

Don't be afraid to get some anxiety meds from your doc for a while. A lot of guys here do so. If it helps - it is worth it.

There is no better gift you could give yourself or your family for Christmas this year. Join us.
