Hang in there this weekend. You will hit double digits early next week, that's a huge milestone.

Telling your wife about the quitting (and by association the former ninja dipping) is a huge step. Of course she was pissed right? As a former ninja myself, I know it involves all kinds of deception and dishonesty. In time she will understand and see you in a better way, becuase it will get so much better. But she will not be able to understand how difficult it is to quit. We do here though, so lean on your quit brothers and with your newfound integrity, make that promise on roll every day! Quit with you EDD.

CJ
One thing I did to help my wife understand what this is all about is gave her a link to KTC. She read the main page (not the forums), but it's the same struggles, just not as personal as the forums.

It helps for someone to read it from a bunch of strangers how jacked up this stuff can make you and how the withdrawals affect a quitter and how things can still get weird after weeks and months.
Man up and be a quitter ODAAT. Post Roll EDD. It works.

ODAAT: One Day At A Time
EDD: Every Damn Day

Welcome to the December quit group! B)B

I recommend lots of water, chewing gum (non-nicotine of course) or seeds, exercise if you can, and reading the withdrawal thread here. I won't lie to you - the first week is awful. Try to remember that you are the addict, your loved ones had nothing to do with this situation. You are actually taking steps to improve your life.

I'm proud to be quit with you today. Please send me a PM if you need help.

I'm 30 and my first dip was on my 18th birthday. Some birthday present to myself. I've dipped ever since. I've tried quitting probably 2-3 times a year ever since. I think I've made it 3 weeks before then started again. I have a 3 year old daughter and a son on the way. Cancer and death scare the shit out of me, and I really want to be around for my family. I had a half can a day habit up until this past Saturday at noon. I switched to pouches so I could hide the habit at work easier. These past couple days have really sucked. Cravings are started to get a little better, but I'm really grouchy and emotional.
Youre doin fine Timber. Nice to see your head in in the right place. Just keep quit, no matter what through this first week. Alot of it will subside... but it will not ever go away fully, you just learn to manage it better. It gets easier. Stay active in your group. Nice thing is you posted roll and didnt fuck it up :)

Just post as EARLY as you can each day. I quit with you, stay strong. Think about that wife and the kid(s) when you are thinking about how nice it would be to have a cat turd in your lip.

Read up on this site, read the HOF speeches, read the people that were lost to cancer... read about the success stories. YOU CAN DO IT!
I was TIMEBERWOLF Long Cut Wintergreen... so I really can feel for you. If an old SOB like me (50) can do it for 37 days now, and I had been at it for 25+ years, then a young pup like you should be able to lick this easy Just go one day at a time
Oh yeah, and you better have dumped all your stash you may have had hidden around. Pouches included. NO NICOTENE at all

ThanksGuys, yep tossed all my stuff Saturday
Just re read my intro. I used pouches for the last couple years before quitting Saturday. Don't worry I'm definitely nicotine free now. Yesterday was a pretty bad day for me thinking wise lol. Told my wife today that I quit. Since I was a ninja dipper she was a little pissed. She knew I dipped, but just not how often.
Today was an ok day withdrawal wise. I'm not as pissy and short tempered as I had been. Hopefully the physical symptoms are starting to end. From previous times quitting I know the mind games are where I have had trouble before. But I'm still quit today and I can't wait to post roll in the morning and be quit tomorrow too.
