Fergo....

GHC said it....:The reason KTC works is the accountability. If you choose not to utilize that you are wasting your time.

I was a can a day for nearly 4 decades. Stopped briefly before the days of internet. stopped again yesterday. The amount of support (some of it VERY DIRECT) I got was surprising and awesome. You can't quit if you have thin-skin....these dudes have either been through the hell we're in now or are going through it with us. I can't think of a better way to mitigate the crap...it's all about being above board with the group...you shoot straight with them, they respect that.

I'm still a FNG, but I know intent when I see it. Their intent is to get you clean and keep you that way.

If you're a new quitter and are reading this, go back to post #1 and read the whole thing. Then, keep an eye on this guy and watch what happens. The moral of the story is this: POST ROLL EVERY DAMN DAY.

Only post roll every day if you want to be free. If you want to go back to dipping, make your own rules and see where that gets you.

El Fergo here is an excuse maker and lacks accountability, self-honesty, and determination.

The system works, get some numbers and ask someone to post a +1 for you daily. Or e-mail someone. PM me if you want, I'll give you digits and e-mail, but no more excuses. I'm about the lowest tech guy I know, and I post roll every day.

Bumping this intro because you've only posted 40% in our group Ferg. I don't see anybody posting for you which means you aren't texting anybody you're quit.

Are you in or out bro? Don't just swing in when you feel like it. Commit to this shit and your group.

I'm here J2. Been a week--no tobacco. Didn't have a computer for a few days--and I'm a dumb phone person.
Glad to hear you're still quit. Here's the thing, as far as I know not one damned quitter on this site knew that. Remember that number I PM'd to you the first day? Better pull that bad boy outta the trash and dust it off.

I understand stuff comes up sometimes, but when nobody's heard from you how do we know that? Accountability and posting roll are the only things we've got on this site to cement the quit relationships with the brothers/sisters on here.

Take it more seriously bro or it's going to catch up to you. Let's see some solid participation in the group the next couple days to start getting that accountability rolling. If you think I'm a schlong now and don't want to send me your number that's alright, but you better send it to a couple other Sultans instead.

QLF with you today Ferg.

Hi there. Thanks for the PM. I responded....let me know your plan please. If you don't have access to a computer everyday and you don't know how to post from your phone, what is your plan to be able to post roll each day? What is your solution? How many numbers do you have?....and, how many of those numbers do you use? Roll is a daily thing, not weekly. Be part of the solution....your only other option is to be part of the problem.
Ginet just gave you some quit gospel...do you know what she's basically saying? There is no excuse for missing roll. It is the bread and butter of your quit and you need to figure out how to post roll every day from this day forward. Have a back-up plan, contacts you can call / text to post for you. 27 years of dip eh? you'll be glad that we rode you hard to create a rock-solid accountability network...it's amazing how just posting roll and having back-up plans to post roll take care of that for you.
You have a lot of solid quitters in your corner already. If you want to be free bad enough you will post roll everyday, or text a buddy to post for you. The DAILY promise is everything. You can do this.
The reason KTC works is the accountability. If you choose not to utilize that you are wasting your time.

I don't mean for this to come off as negative, Fergo, but we see hundreds of people stop in to KTC for just a nanosecond only to never be heard from again. Hopefully we can get our hooks into you while you're here.

Your intro doesn't have me convinced that you want this bad enough. Quitting is hard and the addiction is stronger than our love of teeth or money.

What brought you here, man? I'm happy for you that the first five days haven't been that bad, but eventually you're going to be tested. Way less than half of people that write an intro on KTC make it to the HOF. What's it gonna be for you?
Minny, I apologize that my "war face" doesn't scare you. But, I'm really glad you're talking with me. I think my biggest test will be going into a convenience store. Scared of that. If I go in, I'll want to buy dip. So, right now, it's avoidance. Actually, it's all about avoidance right now, tricking myself into thinking that the herbal dip is real, etc. If I can fool myself for another week, then I can start delving into more truths.
Well, you're talking back with us and that's a good start. Stay close to your intro and whatever you do don't have any nicotine, Not Today For Any Reason. Then, first thing tomorrow get online and post roll with your group and make the commitment.

I "quit" dozens of times over the years. I was going to quit when I graduated college, changed jobs, moved in with my girlfriend, got engaged, got married, then there were the countless commitments to my wife that I would quit "today," 1st of the month, 1st of the year, when my kid was born, on her 1st birthday, 2nd birthday... I threw probably 100 full cans (less one chew) into the trash can. Failure, failure, failure. What you don't get yet is that it's not about being able to go into a c-store without caving; rather 99% of the time the decision is made and the entire trip TO the c-store is a "fuck it, I'm having Just One" trip.

In any case, KTC, for all its flaws, is the only thing that worked for any of us. And, if I may add, it worked for all of us without even the slightest modification. Take a shit ton of determination and follow these rules:

-Post roll each day (that means EVERY DAMN DAY)
-Don't have any nicotine that day no matter what

It's not that I'm not scared of your war face, rather I'm concerned that you've shown up at the battlefield wearing Life Is Good pajamas and flip flops wearing the same war face you'd bring to a channel surfing session on a rainy Sunday. And that's what it is: concern. You're here and you're engaged (for now). I want you to "get it" before you cave, never to be seen again.

27 years of dipping? Shit's gonna get real for you at some point and I just want to see you win. In any case, whether you do this looking like William Wallace or looking like The Dude, just follow the two rules.

For the record, I have my doubts that you will stick around.

Prove me wrong.
Not looking good Minny. He posted roll yesterday for the first time, and no showed for day 2.
The only thing that surprised me was that he lasted an entire day.
Still here, been a week, no tobacco. I was without computer for a few days.

Listen to Minny. He's not mincing words for your sake not his. He's got a boss quit going on, and he wants you to get there too. What he's telling you is you have to be in 100%. No hoping or wishing about it. I've never heard of a time when KTC turned their backs on a guy that caved because he literally had a gun to his head. Other than that, YOU HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER WHETHER YOU EVER OR NEVER PUT ANOTHER DIP IN YOUR MOUTH. It's hard, but cancer is harder. Breaking your family's collective hearts while they watch you suffocate on a tumor will be much worse than taking your life back.

You're going to get some tough love here, but it's still love deep down. You can do this bro, one day at a time. One minute at a time if you have too, but don't even think about putting another turd in your mouth without checking in with your quit bros first.
