Welcome medic! Join us in November and QLF!

PS Bigs Dill Pickle SF seeds are fing awesome. Hell of a lot better than that nasty dip. X2 on the SCBA deal - that shit sucks with a little 'leftover' hanging around.

Great job medic on posting roll. Now the fun begins. My suggestion to you is to spend every extra minute over the next few days logged onto KTC reading all you can. It will help keep your mind off the pain of withdrawal and focus your mind on what others have faced and dealt with. Pm me anytime I'm glad to extend my hand for any of your quit needs.

Good decision, Medic. Mike Land is correct: you're fighting an addiction, not kicking a habit. Getting that mindset right will help you. Habits are easily controlled, but addiction will kick your ass time and time again. The quicker you make that distinction, the better off you'll be.

These guys have already posted quite a few links to get you started. This place can be overwhelming, so just drop me a message (PM) if you need help or direction. No, scratch that, I'll send you PM shortly so you can just reply if you need anything. Check your Inbox at the upper right.

Nicotine addiction is rampant in the fire service. That makes it tougher to quit, but it can be done. Show the rest of the addicts on your crew who's the biggest badass by being tough enough to follow through. You'll earn their respect. Oh, and you know that misery when you hit a scene, don an SCBA, then spend 20-30 minutes with the leftover tobacco juice burning your throat so bad you can barely breathe?? You never have to deal with that again.

Good morning to all of you here! I have been looking at this site for a while now and I feel like it is time to kick the habit. I'm 25 years old and work in law enforcement and am a firefighter, I started dipping in 2007 when I would get stressed then it carried over into dipping just to have something in my lip. I'm ready to be done with it and feel like with this site I will be able to do just that. I look forward to talking with everyone and thanks in advance for the support!
OK medic! Great decision to quit. Lets work on your vocabulary first. The Nicotine is not a habit. We are addicts. So are you. So lets get that out of the way right now. You are an addict and will always be one. This is a no nicotine site. We quit and we do it one day at a time. We don't worry about tomorrow or next week or next month. We worry only about today.

You will be in the November quit group. That is the month that you will hit 100 days quit. Go to the welcome center and learn how to post roll. Do it everyday. Posting roll is how we make our promise to all our quit brothers and sisters that we will not use nicotine that day. Once you have posted roll, read everything on this site at least twice.

If you are serious about quitting you have come to the right place. If you are not you will learn rather quickly that we are not very tolerant. Welcome aboard.

Now get busy quitting and living instead of dipping and dying!

Mike
