Adam - Good to see you post roll. Need to see your name back on the list today. Other Adam - good to see you stepping in to support your Sept brother. This is a perfect example of how this site works. You came in dipping your toe in the water and a few posts later you committed to the quit. Stay committed and all it takes is one promise you make to yourself and your brothers that you will not use nic each day. I quit with you today.
Welcome Dude.
you're not here by accident.
Decide Today and only Today....baby steps...you can do it. 40,000 quitters cannot be wrong.

Adam, now you're fucked cause you've got all these badass quitters telling you how it is. It's your choice on how you will respond. Do yourself a favor and challenge your mindset by saying you quit today and holding yourself accountable.
He's fucked even more because he has posted roll and made the promise. Is he man enough to do it again tomorrow? I'm thinking so.

You don't have a "habit". You are a nicotine addict. Biting your nails or not flushing the toilet are bad habits.

You are being controlled by a poisonous can of lies. Nobody NEEDS nicotine. Food, clothing, shelter...nicotine? Ummm no.

Everyone on this site is a nicotine addict. It's "been hard" for every single one of us. We all turned to the tin for comfort. We all thought it provided some sort of security blanket. You're not alone in those thoughts, trust me.

It's all lies bro.

Nicotine fills no voids in your life, it creates them.

"Only a few years". It doesn't matter. One is too many and 1,000 will never be enough.

It's time to stop "thinking" about quitting and step up to the plate. Time to REALL try. Not just put some gum in when you have a crave and then say "I tried, but its too hard". That's pussy ass shit.

If you are truly serious about quitting you need to make nicotine your enemy and not your butt buddy. You need to educate yourself on it and be ready to fight tooth and nail. You need to start building a web of accountability. You need to make a promise to yourself and your web that each day you will keep nicotine out of your system.

We can help you with all of that and more, IF you truly want to quit.

If you're too scared of leaving your security banky and would rather suck on the poisonous teet of addiction, then we cannot help you...nobody can.

Choice is yours.

Lately i have been thinking hard about quitting. For me its been hard. whenever i have a tin i feel comfortable and it is almost like a security blanket but as soon as i am out i freak. its only been a few years for me but a few years too many. i have tried the normal "throw a piece of gum in" whenever i crave it. it has curved my cravings but i need more to stop the habit. where should i start? 'bang head'
Sounds like the Nic bitch has got you by the balls. Time to tell her to take a hike. You don't need her anymore. Want to feel the freedom of being quit? Flush your stash and just be quit.

2 basic house rules:

1). Post Roll Daily
2). Honor your word for the day.

Read, read, and read some more.

Start by reading what people are telling you here, and then making your mind up to quit to save your life from your addiction. Try the chat here at KTC too if you want to discuss more. This is hard core no "trying" make up your mind and do whatever it takes quitting. House gotta go all in or you're toast here. If you do go with the program here though you can be free. Balls in your court. Get on over to chat if you need more discussion. I hope you decide to join us and take control of your life back.

Some advice? Lots of advice bro. Let's start with the obvious:

1) stop thinking and just do it. What do you have to lose?

2) cancer sucks; quit now and you could be at the same risk as a non user awfully fast.

3) you are an addict. This is not a habit. You are addicted to one of the most addictive substances known to man, and it's damn lethal.

4) use our method. We don't try. We just quit.

5) your comfort blanket is the pox laced version. Dump that poison in the toilet and piss on it. Post roll and keep your word.

Read this site for all the advice you could possibly want or need.
The problem is not the problem.  The problem is your attitude about the problem.  Do you understand?

Draw Fire

If its too much trouble to post roll call, you could always fuck off.

Start by reading everything you can find on this site. Then stick your hand down the front of your pants and see if you have the balls to quit. You've gotta want it. Once you decide to go cold turkey you have 72 hours of withdrawals and a lifetime of head games. It will suck but not as bad as you think it will. With time it all gets easier.
But get this straight, it ain't no habit! Scratching your ass in public is a habit. This is an addiction. You, like me are an addict. I just choose to control my addiction and for now you are letting your addiction control you.
All that shit about your security blanket is addict speak for the nic whore is humping me.
So, what's it gonna be? You gonna grab your pair and quit like a man that means it or keep your security blanket while she takes your money, dignity and possibly your life?
Le me know when you get serious.

Two things; change your mindset you don't have a habit, your an addict and post roll, your promise to not use today.
