Andrew thank you for your service. Let's cover one small detail-CANCER. You think you have debt, what happens if you continue sticking that killer in a can in your lip and find out you have cancer? You no longer able to hold down your job , all responsibilities fall on your wife, your kids have to watch there dad suffer through chemo or worse death. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm giving you facts, there's some very courageous guys on this site right now fighting cancer and winning and there's some that haven't been that fortunate. I guess I'm really saying what I've always neglected to admit when I was dipping, I was selfish and really didn't give a damn about my kids having to miss out on there father a whole lot because he'd rather be getting his fix. I dipped 38 years, stopped 100s of times found ktc and quit! Quitting ain't easy but with 32,000 people that's been through the same shit you are and telling you how your gonna feel, how to manage the anger, fuss with you and some may even cry with you, we will help you through this. Last thing I thank God daily for letting me live long enough to raise my children because family is and always will be my life. You see Dad provided me with a good life and I was fortunate to raise 3 great children, so everytime you have a crave think about those little ones needing a Father. Ktc works but you must quit for yourself, learn to hate tobacco, get numbers. Nicotine is no habit it's an addiction, it will more than likely make you very angry, let your wife know ahead of time. Don't argue with her or your kids, remember they weren't shoveling the shit in your mouth. Come in here or your group, I promise you will find someone to argue with. Post Roll Early Every Damn Day be a man of your word and you will make it. Damn proud to be quitting with you today!

Pm for number if you want. Pab-906
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Thanks Bryan. I used to think that the alcohol and tobacco would help me, when it's the complete opposite. Iam a slave to the addictions. I've talked to my family, and they're all proud and know what I need from them to make this work.

Hey Andrew. You have an interesting story to read. I can see where your stress level is through the roof. I bet you tell yourself that the tobacco and beer are relieving your stress and helping you deal with life. When you take a step back and look at it, it is just the opposite. You cant afford the tobacco and beer every night. This is leading to your financial difficulties and ultimately your stress. The good news is, you have a way out that will cost you nothing. Go cold turkey on the tobacco and the alcohol. Give yourself a 200 month raise and use the rest to pay down the credit card debt. In about 8-10 months, you are quit and you have your debt under control. Figure out how to live on what you make and quit digging a hole with the credit cards. You should be a guy that is highly motivated because the win is HUGE!! You must change your mindset so that tobacco and alcohol are not an option. You owe that much to your family. You owe gaining control of your life to you. I hope you are 100% committed to quitting because I see huge changes in both your personal life as well as your family life. Time to start making some adult decisions.

We are all here to help. I am putting my phone number in your inbox(top right of screen)

I am proud to quit with you!!!

Thanks for the encouraging words so far gents. Iam feeling much better after reading all that. This is so far the most support I've received in any quit. I can see why there's so many success stories here.

Welcome Andy. RDB laid it out perfectly. It's going to suck for a little while, but it will get better. You'll find that the dip was causing and masking a lot of the stress in your life, but was definitely not easing it.

I've found that my temper and patience has actually gotten a lot better since quitting, although there is certainly a spike early on.

Just keep making that promise and keeping it. Reach out for as much support in your personal life as you can, but also use this site. We're all addicts and we understand exactly what you're going through.

Send me a PM as well if you want digits.

Thank you for your service.

Welcome to KTC. This is the best place on the internet to find support while you quit. I see you already posted in the September group. Keep doing that first thing in the morning Every Damn Day (EDD). That's your promise to yourself, and the entire KTC community that you will not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. Keep your word, and promise the same thing tomorrow.

Things don't get sugar coated around here. Quitting sucks. Really bad. But quitting is also very simple. Post your promise. Keep your promise. Refuse to cave. Everyone you meet here has gone through the same thing, we all wanted to give up at some point, but we didn't. For an added line of defense, grab some digits from your brothers in quit. Just send me a PM for mine. When you have someone's digits, they have committed to be available to you 24/7 if you need to reach out to kill a crave.

Over the next several weeks, double your water intake, and halve your caffeine. You also mentioned drinking more beer than you want. It's a good idea to cut out alcohol completely early in your quit. People make stupid decisions when they drink. You don't have to spend much time here to see how many caves followed a night of drinking.

As for the money problems - Cutting our nicotine and booze will go a long way. I hear you on skipping meals in favor of tobacco. Look at mint.com, savingadvice.com, and Mr. Money Moustache's blog, as well as other places on the net. Great sources of information on budgeting/saving/living within your means that I've used in the past.

You also mentioned stress in your life. You and your wife no doubt have a stressful life. Cutting out nicotine will remove one of the stressors. People (and me a year and a half ago)think that dipping/nicotine relieves stress. The only thing nicotine relieves is the need for itself. Think about that. I used to stress about my next dip, stress about the money I was spending on dip, stress about what dip was doing to my health, stress about how much my breath stunk because of the dip. Removing nicotine from your life removes a lot of stress. Yes, it does suck for a while - how long it sucks bad is different for everyone - but most people say the first three days is the worst. After three days, the nicotine is out of your body. After that it's a matter of keeping it out of your body.

Proud to quit with you.

Gotta kill the cam before it kills me.
« on: June 20, 2017, 12:38:00 PM »
Hello all, my names Andrew ramey. I've been using tobacco for 8 years now. For the last 2 or so years my tobacco use has spiraled out of control. Iam currently using between 4-5 cans of dip a day, and drinking 4-6 beers a night. That's about $600 a month that Iam just washing down the drain at the expense of my health. Iam beyond stressed out. Have a 6 month old son, and a 4 year old daughter. My wife and I are both active duty military in high stress environments. I have an hour long car ride to work at 0530, work out, get changed, eat, goto work, get home around 6-7, and get ready for the next day. There's a dip in my mouth the whole day. I've tried quitting a few times my longest was 3 weeks. I quit because me and my wife were arguing pretty bad and I couldn't handle it. I have 2 maxed out credit cards putting me at $3,300 in debt, and I can't really make ends meet at the end of the month. This is the end of the line. I have chosen on several occasions to buy tobacco and go without lunch and dinner. Iam in desperate need of help. I can't do this on my own, and my wife doesn't understand what I need help with. I need my life back, so I can focus on my children, my wife, and my wellbeing. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
