Welcome to KTC, MDquit - and glad to see you have posted your Day 1 in October 2018. So glad you are taking this addiction seriously and quitting at a young age.

Since you are heading into the medical field, you should know as well as anyone the need to understand what a particular substance is actually doing to your body - and doing in your body. If you haven't already, please read though the resources found on KTC in the Facts  Figures section of the site as well as other sites such as whyquit.com. Google "nicotine addiction" and "nicotine dopamine receptors" for a ton of useful information. Once I understood my addiction in a more clinical way, the easier my quit became.

Once again, welcome aboard! PM me if you need anything.
Just one and you will be back to where you started, and where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are now.

Day 1
« on: July 07, 2018, 09:30:00 AM »
Hello all,

Last night I made the decision to quit for a number of reasons. After 7 years, I feel that I have finally found a reason thatÂ’s strong enough to convince my stubborn self that it will be worth it. The reason is that I will be going to medical school this year, which comes with a host of sub-reasons as to why I shouldnÂ’t use tobacco. You all can probably figure those out.

My decision also comes after finding several unusual rough patches on my gums which are giving me added motivation.

Looking forward to a life unchained.
