Hey ladies and gents.
My name's Josh, 19, nice to meet you all!
I'm proud of all of you.

So let's get into it.
I have a looot of health problems and neurological disorders. I am in nonstop pain and have been for over 3 years now. I started dipping about 15 months ago when I graduated high school. Before that, I smoked off and on for a couple years.

With that being said, dip has become somewhat of a pain and anxiety reliever for me, and if not for that, I probably would've quit sooner.

Last night I experienced son sort of hot flash, it lasted for hours, I couldn't sleep, my head and chest were hurting more than usual, and it was just all around a scary situation. I'm really not feeling much better today.
But with that happening, and the fact that heart problems/stroke run in my family (and risk of those increase with my conditions) I think it's time I quit.

I realize it will super difficult, considering that it's helped me, while at the same time doing damage.

I just hope it doesn't get too bad or cause more pain, I don't know how much more I can take.

So thank you all, and let's quit!
Josh,

lets get two things straight from the start ...

1. Chew has not helped you.
a.Tobacco + Problem = 2 problems ...
2. There is nothing about hopeful - quitting is an action and is something we do here and we do it well!

You have made a great choice coming here and we are all here to help you quit! I see you just found Jan Quit group nice work !

Come here each and every day and make that promise to not use nicotine for the day.

Swilson nailed it. We don't hope here. Rather, we post our promise each and every morning and keep our words 24 hours at a time letting tomorrow take care of itself. As long as you are a man of your word, you will find success here. Yeah, it can be difficult at times but that is why we are a community, a brotherhood helping hold each other accountable.

You mention a host of issues including health related items you are dealing with. There are folks on here who have literally struggled through it all and remained quit. There is absolutely no excuse EVER! for putting a cat turd in your lip. Recognize and come you accept you are an addict to nicotine and that it is not something that can be cured or eradicated like a bad habit.

I am super happy to have you here; hang on because it's going to be a wild ride but one you won't regret. Drink a shit ton of water and stock up on seeds or gum or mints to help curb the oral fixation. Get involved with your new January 2018 group and start sharing those digits!
