Just would like to give you all an update-- Today, 46 days marks the longest quit I have had in 20 years. To me this day was my first milestone. Next is HOF! Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone at KTC. I know I still have a long way to go. But reading different posts on here and giving my 2 cents to anyone that will listen sure has helped out my quit. This site has been my motivation whenever I feel the need for a pinch. Thanks for making my quit that much easier!
Atta Boy!!!

I agree, this site is the only thing that has made all the difference with my Quit.

Day 17 and I feel Great, woke up early and went for a bike ride. I feel like my quit is going well, but I am a bit concerned that I am using to much of the fake. It seems that I just have to have somthing in my mouth. I am going through the Smokey Mountain Artic mint at about a can every 4 days. Better then the can a skoal every day! But is that a problem? Should I be worried that I am using the fake? It seems harmless but then again thats what I said about Skoal. If its not smokey its sunflower seeds, not seeds I am eating. I know every where I read on here folks are saying they are loosing weight .  Not me!  Will this pass? Its hard to belive that a little green can has got me by the balls! Fuck this shit, I just want to feel normal with out somthing in my lip!  Any advice will help!
There is nothing wrong with using the mint snuff. Like you said better to use that than tobacco. As for the weight its usual to gain some after quitting. Once you getting settled in though you will be able to lose it.

I chewed a lot of gum and drinked plenty of water. Might be a refreshing change from the mint.
DeezNutzz - I'm on day 116 and I still have the fake stuff around. I am using it less and less, but it's there if I want the feel. It hasn't caused me to crave nic, it has done the exact opposite. It satisfies the need to feel the dip (after 30 years you kind of like that security blank so to speak), but the only side effect is fresh breath!

Don't worry about it - what's really cool is I don't HAVE to carry it with me. I don't HAVE to use it. I don't panic when the can is getting empty.

Your doing great - keep the focus
I used it pretty heavily early on. You will natrually stop using it. I cannot remember when I had my last 'fakie". I do still have two cans of it in my golf bag but they have not been used.

Good morning all! Today marks my 4th day, I have to say this week has been one of longest weeks of my life. However reading through this web site has made my need for nic go away. I canÂ’t believe I have let anything have this much control over me, I am such a Jack ASS! Yesterday there was an accident near my home and the fire department had to land a helicopter in the park. As I was in the park with my two boys kicking a soccer ball and doing the common lookyloo thing, one of the firefighters barked at me to leave the park. Before I knew it I was telling him just where he could shove his flashlight. I did not really calm down until I was trying to go to bed. Then I thought again--I am such a Jackass! To the firefighter or anybody that has had to deal with a NIC FIT! I am Sorry! I have no Idea where my anger came from, this is not me! The only comfort that I can find at this point is I will never dip again! And hopefully someday I can deal with everyday situations like a normal human being.

Thanks for the info RWM, I ended up finding some Smokey taste like shit! But got to say it was a good break from sun flower seeds. Today is day three of no nic and last night I woke up about three times for apparently no reason. In spite of all that I feel great!, I think the fog is wearing off and when I woke up this morning I did not have the strong need for a pinch that I have had for the past 20 plus years. Life is awesome! I donÂ’t know what tomorrow holds for me but I want everybody that is following this post to know that because of you-- I will not dip today!
Just a quick story--I got home from work yesterday and on my way through the laundry room there was a can of skoal that apparently went through the wash, DonÂ’t know much about all of you, but in the past I would not throw away the can. Usually I would bitch at my wife then continue dipping the nastiest juiciest logcutt there ever was. Anyhow yesterday as I cracked the lid off Of what I used to consider the worst looking dip in the world, looked oohh so good. I stood there a moment smelling that wintergreen aroma and thinking about my promises to you folks. Just at that time my son Flew open the door of garage and knocked the can out of my hand and on to floor. My Son looked at the mess and then looked up at me with some concerned eyes. I picked him up and all I could say was Thank You!
Deez - sometimes God puts things in motion to keep us on course, I think that was one of those moments. Cool story, thanks for posting it.

The mint snuff is better and lots like the hooch so order up some of each and have them around.

Some days go by easy, others are long and hard. You will hit fog, time warps (fast and slow), craves, rage, depression, stress.... look past it, quit one day at a time. You are doing great. Vent here and not on the family, trust me rage will come. Exercise, pray, and have your supplies, each day gets better. Just keep in mind you will hit periods down the road, like fog again in the 40's. So it's day by day.

Can't have one more dip, can't have one more can. You are done with nic. Make sure you are ready for the weekend. Triggers will hit when you don't expect them.

I can't find a store that sells the fake dip. However I will NOT dip today!
order it online - google mint chew and you will see links to smokey, hooch, mint snuff... ships pretty quick. It's good to have around. I still use it today and I'm on day 101, but I don't use it much. It's nice to have instead of stuffing food/candy in my mouth. After 30 years of dip, I still like having something in the lip from time to time so this stuff works well for me. BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER BE THAT NIC SHIT AGAIN! I quit one day at a time.

Hello everybody! I am 36 and picked up this habit at about 16 yrs old. I have attempted to quite twice before.  The first time a couple years back I stopped cold turkey !! but picked up smoking even faster!!. A couple months later was back on track with my Skoal Long cutt, or should I say off track. Either way Smoking was done.  About a Year ago I Stopped for about a month and went to a party with an old Navy buddy and wouldnt you know it---Copenhagen Long Cutt.  Over the last few weeks I have had a couple of Dr. Appointments Concerning some Cholestrol issues.  I promised my Wife I will be around for her and my two boys ( 6 and 4 ).
This is Day one for me  and I am allready through a 1/2 bag of seeds.  If history serves me correct I should be able to get to 30-45 days. But after that ---well should we say this time will be a record breaker!  Wish me luck and I will be checking up on here daily.  ---
first man let me bust out my spell checker cause i donÂ’t want no winy babies saying they cant reed what i rite. specially when its important like this.

see man you don't need a worry bout day 30 or day 45. all you got to worry bout is to day. all over this site i post ‘yesterday +1’ and man some people don’t no or for get why i do that. well man its learning and reminder time.

now the ‘yesterday’ part is cause I’m reel proud I made it threw the hole day yesterday with out taking a dip or other wise using nic. every quitter here otter be proud a this every morning they wake up.

‘+1’ is for to day. my promise not to dip to day. i ain’t making a promise bout tomorrow cause it ain’t come yet (and man as i all ways say tomorrow never comes so don’t worry bout it and never say your quitting tomorrow a round me but that’s a hole another lecture.)

so man in short worry bout to day. for ever is too big.
Good info, Syndrome-- I woke up this morning and I did feel good about yesterday being done, So I can fully wrap around your concept of yesterday +1.

So here is to another day in the fog, going to battle with the nic bitch, I have my Seeds, My mouth hurts and I can't find a store that sells the fake dip. However I will NOT dip today!

Welcome, there is no luck, you will do this if you choose to. We dont try anythhing, we do around here.
GL NUTZZ but Klark is correct, course he is - he's Klark, but anyways - commit to the quit this time and take all the luck out of it. Might a new quitter suggest that you make a contract and get a lot of phone numbers in case you need to initiate the contract. Stay true to your word everyday to all of us and that will buy you at least one night to sleep on any impulse to stick shit back in your mouth. Welcome to the club quitter.
