I'm new to the group and have been dipping about 18 years. I've gone cold turkey for 3 weeks now, but need to keep the momentum going. So far I've gotten by without any aids, but feel like I should invest in some fake stuff fir the weak moments to come. Any thoughts?

3 weeks I figure I better update my intro. Since day1 I have come a long way already. The fog was dissipated and I feel great! My shits are finally back to normal and I am sleeping through the night. I have had plenty of temptations because like most of you quitters I have friends that are chewers. Best advice I can give new quitters is find your support group. Get numbers and post roll. I screwed up and missed one day and I heard about it. If ya need a buddy PM me. Remember it sucks ass quitting but totally worth the pain!
Great job on hitting 3 weeks brother!!!

Great choice, E-coli!!! Two days is HUGE! Power through it, brother! Also, one immediate advantage to quitting...no more brown stain on your shoulder when you're riding you bike, huh? How many shirts did you ruin doing that? (be honest)
Bahaha ecoli? I wear black shirts on my bike for that reason and that reason only.

The fog will lift and you will get thru. This is a great place to come let out your agression and be a ass hole. Much better here than with the family and friends. The first few days are the worst. It will take your mind and body time to reprogram with out the nicotene. One day at a time.

Well guys just let me start off by saying that i am an irritable, on edge, and probably a horrible person to be around right now. But honestly i would rather be in this spot than with a big ole lipper in spitting in my empty bottle of vitamin water. It's day 2 and this is the best thing i could do for ME. I have been chewing/smoking cigs for 6 years now. I have tried quitting in the past but that's worked real well as you all can tell. I also had been planning my quit for a few months and weening my self off of it. I finally decided enough was enough and i threw it out and here i am now.

A little about my self i am 21 and a college student who is taking a semester of to be an engineer in a paper mill. I love my job but I can tell you that my job can be damn stressful sometimes. I am really big into hunting, fishing, and riding my motorcycle. I am really excited to start this journey to a tobacco free life but right now things are a little rough.

One day atta time,
Eric
Great to hear you got wise earlier in life than later brother, now keep things simple....Post roll  keep your promise, tomorrow do the same!!!

One day at a time is what it takes and with the help of the guys on this site you will find the support you need to kick the nic bitch away!

Ok ecolt. Good for you especially at your age, you have a chance that many of us threw away....quit while your young. Get on here and read, especially the welcome center, then post roll. Roll is the basis of how this site works, Brotherhood and accountability. Posting roll is your promise to your group and all of us that you will not use nic in any form at all for that day. We take it one day at a time, hell minute by minute sometimes! Holler if you need help. You will find a ton of support on this site. I will quit with you.

The Haze Sucks ASS! I feel like I could rip the head off of a Grizzly with my bare hands right now. Irritability is and understatement! I stopped once for 3 1/2 yrs. I am kicking myself in the ASS now.

Anyway, great job so far fellas! I am on day 2. Keep Kickin The Can!

Alright brother, a lot of those things you enjoy are going to be triggers for you. I will assume that you would usually dip doing most of them, (I know I sure as hell did). What you must understand now is that right now, this moment, you are NOT who you used to be. You are QUIT. it's not just something you have done, it is a lifestyle you MUST become. That means, there will be things that you used to do, that you will need to sit back from until you are ready to handle them dip free.

I really like how you are "doing it for me". This is for NO ONE else. Others may benefit from your quit, but this is YOURS. You must work for it. You owe it to yourself. And you must NEVER let anyone deprive it of you.

This is WHO we ARE. We are QUIT. Now you are too.

Guard it with your life, cuz this is a LIFE issue. You have my number, and you darn well better use it!

There is tons of wisdom throughout this site. Dig around. Find it. Read it. Learn it. Live it.

Damn proud to be quit with you!!!
