This morning, I posted a day 4 for me today.  But, it won't be the full 72 hours for me for another couple of hours.  That's okay, because I am quitting for good now!!

Truth is, I have had 3 attempted rather lengthy quits on my own for the last couple of months.  Each time I went for about 3 to 7 days.  I have also had probably about 2 dozens times where I have declared, "I am quitting!" in my mind, only to buy another can about a day later, and in some cases, only hours later.  This is all in the last few months.

That was all before I found KTC.

My wife was shocked this morning when I told her that I quit dipping again three days ago.  This was the first time I told her I quit again because she and the kids have been stressed out every time I "quit."  The rage I had, the absolute vitriol I spewed toward them?  It was amazing that I was capable of it toward them and in that way.  Then, I found this site and NOW I know why I was raging.

So, these last 3 days?  Was a walk in the park compared to the other times on my own.  Every time I'd feel something coming on?  I came to the site to read up on what I was going through.  Also helped that the computer was in the basement and I was removed from the situation where I could also take deep breaths and then rejoin the family once I was "okay."

At any rate, these next several weeks I think I will really need this site due to the "habits" formed and need the accountability.  I think that will be key.  That, and getting through the next several weekends without drinking.  Will just have to do it!  No doubt about it.

My mouth right now is full of so many sores, it even hurts to smack my gum.  I knew this was coming because it happened before, but, man, I am going to use this as motivation to never, ever do dip again.  This pain sucks and I can't wait until it heals up.

Well, that's me...hope this helps some that are trolling the site right now.

Not sure who all is here, but searching around, it doesn't seem like anyone is really laying out what they want to be held accountable for.  Yeah, yeah, yeah...I read the welcome center, and I know we're posting our word, but all of us have one goal with different plans to achieve it.

For instance, looks like a bunch of you ripped into this Getsome29 guy...looks like he caved once?  Okay, what was his plan to quit?  Again, for instance, my plan, working out of my home, is to post around 7:30 in the morning after my shower and before I begin my business day.  Keep my munchies and gum nearby and when it gets bad, come to the site and post/read.  Then, check once more at the end of the business day, scroll through to see what I missed, comment on any jackwagons or superstars and then spend the evening with my family.

Now, it looks like I got "bumped" (as I am learning the term) by some guy named 30yrchewer.  He posted a day 6...congratulations, BTW...but under his avatar, it lists a complete number of posts of 2.  So, why isn't anyone jumping on him?

All and all, I guess my largest question is, July, what are our plans for quitting?  Have you written your plan yet?  It's just like goals in your life!!  In life, write your plan and WORK your plan.  Well, here?  Let's write our quit and WORK or quit.  Any takers?!?!

Easily one of the best posts I've read from someone with only a relatively few days quit on this site. Most people don't get the idea of a quit plan so quickly. Most of it is because they are still foggy, some of it they are lazy, some they just don't understand accountability to random strangers on a website.

It takes a few weeks of us drilling it into their heads that there's more than just putting your name on a line. Sure, that is your promise and it will help keep you quit, but without understanding how to get support or to give support, eventually they disappear.

You obviously want your quit. It's pretty evident for those of us who have been here a while and posts like this make it easy to tell. You don't need to have hundreds of days quit to ride your fellow quit group about missing roll, not writing quit plans down, posting late in the day, etc. Just a hint.
Agree; this post is nasty good. Goes to show that one can inspire at 4 days quit as much as the guy 400 days quit.

Your story has been repeated many times on here. I stopped for 3 years before. That was long before I knew about KTC. Now I am 35 days in and more confident than ever. This is a daily face your fears site where you will never forget about your addiction and you will be held accountable. Good job posting roll, just be sure to do it daily.

As for the rage, bring it in here. Your family doesn't deserve it and we all get it. Rage in chat, intros roll, wherever but NOT at home.

Glad to be quit with ya.

Hey QT...here's the deal about this place..listen to sco...all the things he said are what you need to live by from now until tomorrow. You need to do this for yourself...because your tired of being a slave, because your scared to die a pretty horrible death if you keep it up...but know this...your sores in your mouth will most likely heal...then what? that is the thing that you need to figure out. until then...quit for today...not forever...just today. i know i quit with you today..and i know a lot of other folks do too...you are not alone
Boy I sure could use a beer right about now!
