No roll posted yet? Make that promise bud and I guarantee ya we all will promise to quit with you today. You have made a wise choice at your age.
I think i successfully posted roll finally, took me a minute to figure out. But i made it through the work day without a pinch and i havent done that in a year
Congrats on posting roll and making it through the first day of many. There is lots of wisdom and help on this site. The only cost is posting roll and making that promise to yourself and the brotherhood that you will not use nicotine for that day. Once you pay that debt the world is yours. Pretty damn small price to pay for a lifetime of freedom from dip.

Some words of advice to get you through the weekend. Drink all the water you can. It will help fight craves and it will help flush that poison from your system. Find something non-nicotine to help with the oral fix. I use smokey mountain herbal snuff. Tobacco free, can buy it at walmart and a lot of gas stations, and it keeps you from putting that cat turd back in your lip. Try raisins, gum, cotton balls, wasabi peas...anything to keep the nic out.

Read the forums on here. Hall of Fame and Words of Wisdom helped me in ways I can't express. They will help you prepare for the journey and build that hate towards nicotine that will help fuel your quit.

Go in the chat room or PM anyone. I don't know you but I will do what I can to help you stay quit. I just wish I was as smart as you 10 years ago.

I am damn proud to quit with you today.

Good, posting roll can be tricky at first. Don't worry as much about getting it right as much as posting every day.

Getting through a work day without nicotine is a victory! Savor it. Next challenge is the weekend, which has its own set of triggers. Try to PM your digits to a couple fellow quitters so you can ask about what is going on a have support in the first days of your quit : aka the suck.

Your quit may become hour by hour or minute by minute, but you can get through this phase and it will get better.

If I could I would. If I don't, it's because I am lazy.

The next more is yours Spencer. I dipped almost as long as you have been alive. Don't be an idiot like me, quit when you are 19 and never look back.

Alright Spence, fine decision you've made; it turns out, NOW is the best time to quit!

Heed Nomore1959's advice and head on over to the January 2016 Roll Call. And post your promise:

Spencerorion - Day 1

Wake up on Saturday, and do it again. Check your PMs (top right `Inbox`). Drink plenty of fluids. Hit the seeds, gum, candy, fake stuff, or coffee grounds.

You got this Spencer.

Hey guys, new to the group. Looking for some help with the nasty habit ive developed. Im 19 and started dipping on the high school wrestling team. Id estimate ive been addicted for about a year and a half. Ive been on and off quitting but I need to turn this new leaf while im still young. Ive noticed my gums receding and its scared the living hell out of me.
OK, you are in the correct place for help with this addiction. It will be tough going, especially at the beginning, but you will survive and it will be much better. You are 19, so can look at a lot of the intros here to see a bit of your future if you keep dipping -- solitary and troubled.

So far you have stopped a couple times, but quit is a different matter.

You know you are an addict just like I am, and everyone else here. Here's how to handle it:

1. Flush the contents of any can of dip within reach, destroy the cans. (you don't want any within reach).

2. go to the January 2016 quit group (you will reach 100 days with these quitters) and post roll. Posting role is making a promise to yourself, and everyone here that you will not use nicotine in any form for 24 hours. We can all quit for one day. Then post roll again when you wake up tomorrow morning, and quit another day. One day at a time, every damn day is the way to handle this addiction.

3. use the PM system to swap digits with your fellow quitters -- the January DOGs are a group of bad ass quitters that will welcome and guide you.

4. read everything on this site, especially words of wisdom and hall of fame speeches -- lots of knowledge to keep your quit strong.

I quit with you today.
