Raider14,
My mouth felt like garbage for quite a while, but remember do you think another chew will help?
Also, look at all this support, isn't that awesome!!!!
You got the tools and support, now the only obstacle is your mind, can you dig deep and and find the strength?

Day 3 and I still don't really feel any big mood changes or agitation. I'm wanting to snack on something constantly and as I told BrianG in a message, the left side of my lower mouth and left side of my tongue feel terrible and are extremely sore. Is that something that others of you experienced?
Raider what you are experiencing is quite common. Read the what to expect link Brian sent it is a great source of info. Have you joined your July 17 group yet?

Welcome Raider. Quitting here is simple: Make a promise each morning to a bunch of people you don't know, that you will not use nicotine today; and then keep that promise. Anyone can quit for a day.

It's not easy though. We'll help you when you find it difficult to make that promise. As long as your quit is as important as anything else in your life, you can succeed at this.

Read as much on here as you can. It will help.

Raider

You and I are close on all the numbers. I am 50 and 35 year addiction. I was a can a day guy for many of those years. I have found it all comes down to how bad do you want it. Right now I am pretty sure you are hating life. It took me about a week to feel human again. I posted day 84 today(12 weeks) It has been a struggle. It is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. My advice, Post roll everyday first thing, then do whatever it takes to keep your word. My phone number is in your inbox. See upper right of screen.

Proud to quit with you and stay quit!

Well, as I scroll through the site I see an opportunity to get active by telling everyone a bit about myself. I'm guessing I may be one of the older members, not sure. I am 52 and I've been chewing regularly since I was 15. Yep, 37 years. My wife has put up with it for the 2 years we dated and the 26+ we have been married. My kids never liked it but accepted it as just something I did. Years and years of begging from my dentist to quit never bothered me either. Why now all of the sudden???? I have absolutely no idea, honestly I don't but I know its time. I am on day two and haven't had any mood issues but my tongue is raw from sunflower seeds and from imitation chew that I have added cinnamon oil to get some kind of sensation out of. That's not going to work for me very long I'm afraid but I'm open to anything to help keep me free for a week and hopefully build a good foundation to kick it for good. I will be 100% honest, I have never tried to quit. I had no desire to. This is going to be my first attempt........
Raider, welcome! There a plenty of old guys on here (I'm not one 'boob' ). You've got a great start but this shit is hard! You need to get your head right if you want to succeed and that starts with your verbiage. We don't hope around here we quit. Your quit group is July 17. Get in there and post roll. We post roll every day as soon as we wake up as a promise to not use nicotine for 24 hours. You do it first thing in the morning and then the option of nicotine is off the table if you are a man of your word. Honor your word and then repeat the next day and the next and next and so on........................Stay close to the sight, drinks lots of water, read as much as you can, get involved and chat up some of your group members, exchange digits with people. This really works if you let it.

One last thing "This is going to be my first attempt........ ". Horse shit! The is your Last attempt!

YOUR QUIT GROUP JULY 17
