You all scared this guy off completely...

Sorry fellas... not true...

More correctly, he couldn't take the heat.

And he is from my home state... hell, he went to school in the city of my birth.

Hmmm, fucking Illinois... God help me I still have a soft spot for the place, too bad this guy couldn't hang.

You have to really want this to have any chance of success. No "hopefully" this or maybe this time attitude is going to work. No form of fake stuff is going to do the trick. You have to bite the bullet and really deep down WANT to quit. Then the battle begins and it won't be easy, but in the end when your days are over, you can look in the mirror and know that you were not a slave. That you overcame a poison so strong that even the strongest of men have been brought to their knees by its power. You can do this!

These are wise words, Chris. Syndrome is correct on all of this. If your heart ain't in it, you are gonna fail. Period. Planning to quit causes undue stress, which is the last thing an addict needs. When/if you read this, I challenge you to just flush your remaing nic and get on with this thing. All excuses aside, just quit... now. Drop me a PM and let me know when you do.

If you're a correctional officer, you know how to address things head-on. You are also familiar with addicts. Accept the fact that you are one. I am an addict, and once I figured that out, this battle became real. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances out there. Get engaged and get serious, or you will once again fail. This thing ain't easy, but it is possible.

NOTE: you did not quit before. You took a break for almost 3 weeks. There's a significant difference.

Chris,

Syndrome pretty much said it best. Here at KTC, we quit, we do not TRY to quit. There is no better time than right effing now to take your life back! We here are addicts, and this is the first step in bettering ourselves. Because of our addiction, we post roll everyday, which serves as a promise to our respective quit brothers that for that day you will not use any thing nicotine!

The Welcome Center is where you'll wanna get started. This will give you more information on what KTC is all about. It will teach you how to post roll, why we do it, and much, much more valuable information. Once you're ready to begin, you'll wanna head over to the May 2012 group and post up your day 1. Your day 1 should be TODAY because there's no better time than the present to TAKE YOUR LIFE BACK!

So I've been chewing for close to 11 years, started when I was 16 working my first job at a car wash and I think it's time to quit. I've been a correctional officer in the Illinois Department of Corrections since August of 2010 and chewing on the job just isn't worth the risk of tobacco falling into the wrong hands (no inmate is allowed to have any type of tobacco products). I've placed two orders of Hooch and Grind... hopefully they'll be here in the next few days and the day they show up is the day I quit for good. I hope to post more and keep updates on my quitting.

I first quit for almost 3 weeks leading up to my brothers' wedding in 2009, but started back up when I had to go back to school at Illinois State University. I tried again last year using NiP, but once again failed. Hopefully 3rd time's a charm.
