Hey Ned, go to September and post roll. That's the price of admission to this otherwise free resource.

Thanks Dawgs, and noted.

I'm sitting here in my home office with two open bags of sunflower seeds, ghost pepper chex mix, and ghost pepper roasted peanuts. For some reason I think that turning my mouth on fire will help take away the urge to chew when I come across my numerous triggers.

It doesn't work as well as I wish it would. I know though, been through this before, that ghost peppers in my mouth isn't a cure. Deciding to be done, and free, is the very simple decision I have to make at every trigger and urge to chew.

Again, sorry for being new here. Hope I'm not stepping on toes. I appreciate the responses and help. I'll settle in and look around to get a feel for the place. Pretty damb sure I can fit in here from what I've seen so far.

Dude—no apologies needed here. This room is yours to say whatever, whenever. ANYONE can fit in here IF they are willing to put the work in and pull their weight. We can’t do it all for you, but we can damn sure help you to a certain point. I love spicy food, habanero peppers, ghost peppers, but they were a HUGE trigger for me at one point. Now I can enjoy them again without feeling a big need for a dip. Anyways...stay strong man...post roll in September and keep on quitting.

Hey Ned-RDB pretty much covered everything. I’ll just add my welcome and congrats on the best decision ever. I would encourage you to come in here and yell, bitch, piss and moan. If you have family, please don’t take it out on them. Look in here for support. There isn’t a single one of us that won’t bend over to back you up. If you need anything, my number is only a PM away. Stay strong cause I promise, it will get worse before it gets better.

One correction from your post. You weren't Quit four years ago. You just stopped using for a while. We Quit once, and never use nicotine again for any reason.

Hiya RDB, thank you for the response and info, and thank you for the correction. Since all I am doing since I stopped using nicotine at 11pm Sunday night is thinking about chewing...so much that I can't concentrate on anything else, your sharing of the difference between stopping and quitting hits home.

Welcome Ned.

You need to join the September Quit Group, found here: https://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?topic=14277.0

That will be your home base at this site. Each morning you will go there and post a promise to not use nicotine in any form for the whole day. We quit one day at a time. Quit today, wake up and do the same thing tomorrow.

One correction from your post. You weren't Quit four years ago. You just stopped using for a while. We Quit once, and never use nicotine again for any reason.

Get to know the guys in your group. Exchange digits (phone numbers) with a few of them, and a few vets too. Mine are a PM away. It probably sounds strange to exchange digits with internet strangers, but that adds a whole new level of accountability, and enhances your chance at success. When you exchange digits with someone, they are committed to help you out if you are facing a crave. You, likewise, are committed to help them out if they contac you.

For a while, this quit will need to be the most important thing in your life. But once you are through the initial suck, everything get so much better.

Proud to Quit with you,

Hi folks, probably doing this wrong, but first post. Chewed for 30 years. Quit for five years. Decided to take it back up like an idiot four years ago, and was more addicted this time around than the first 30 years. The only time I don't have a chew in my mouth is if I'm brushing my teeth, eating (sometimes), and sleeping (sometimes). Outside of that, I have a large chew in on airplanes, meetings, whatever and where ever.

Home this week but next week will be back on the road. So f'n tired of quitting. Again and again and again.

1.5 days of freedom right now.
