CV,

Welcome, duck-hunter....All I can tell you is put your big-boy britches on cause you're about to go through some serious SUCK. I was a Copenhagen addict for nearly forty years (yeah, I'm old). Stopped once for about 14 months then was fishing with a buddy on Logan Martin and he had a big lipper in....thought to myself "just one won't hurt"...WRONG. Went right back to it like I never even put it down. that was 20 years ago and here I am struggling to figure out who the hell I am when I'm not all drugged up on nicotine.

Knowledge is power, my friend, and their is a shitload of knowledge on arming yourself for the quit on these pages. Read everything you can. Decide daily that you will NOT put that crap in your face. Post that decision EARLY in the day Every Damn Day (EDD). Build your network with the Sultans; get phone numbers, call them if you need to.

Last time I looked, nobody EVER died from nicotine withdrawals, despite what those little demonic bastards in your head are telling you. Remember the lies, remember the addict that is you, and be a man about this quit.

I quit with my Sultan brothers EDD; If you're man enough, you can quit with us.

Damn, I bet ya'll thought we were little bitches lol everyone thinks AVN is.

So how is the quit going? Have you read up on the symptoms that coincide with quitting? I am on day 13 and can tell you that things do get better. Post your anger and frustration here on the forum. I used my intro thread as a sort of "journal" so I could go back and see the b.s. I was experiencing from craving the nic bitch. You are saving your own life by making this decision and we are all here to help you. You got this! I quit with you today

Welcome.

Glad to have you. Read all the info you can in the newcomer's section. Fort Bragg eh? Good ol' 82nd lol. Were you in aviation?

I am sure some of the other guys will chime in with better advice on how to get started

I find it absolutely insane that it took me this long to decide that enough was enough. My name is Charles. I currently live in Roanoke, VA where I am a department supervisor at the local Home Depot. I spent almost five years in the Army at Fort Bragg, NC, and I got out in 2012. I found the link to this website on ESPN after reading an article about one of my childhood heroes dying from cancer caused by chewing tobacco.
