Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully share my journey and get some words of advice from the vets here.

To start it off I'm 25 and I've been chewing for 10 years. (I know that doesn't hold a candle to some of you 20+'ers out there.) My drug of choice has always been Kodiak until Cope came out with wintergreen. I am pretty much one of those guys where if I'm not eating or sleeping I have a dip in. For the past 5 years it has easily been a can a day habit for me.

Until last night I never had any desire to quit chewing. What triggered it for me was when I was brushing my teeth I took a real good look on how nasty and stained my teeth have become from dipping. It's absolutely disgusting, I'm sure you guys know what I mean and have been there. That added with an 18 month old daughter who means the world to me, and a wife who has always told me how disgusting it is.. Well, after 10 years it finally hit me like a ton of bricks. I NEED TO QUIT.

Today is day one. I dumped my can down the toilet last night and called it good. I'm not trying to ween myself off or any of that bullshit. I am quitting cold turkey. I did order some herbal to satisfy that feeling in my mouth but that's about it.

It's going to be a tough journey I'm sure, but I know it has got to be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for listening guys, I look forward to getting to know the great community you have here.
stay strong brotha!

Hey man, I understand how you feel about this. I only dipped regularly for 2 or 3 years but it doesn't change the fact that we're addicts. Cope wintergreen was my choice too.

Glad to be quit with you.

Way to go man. Best decision you ever made.

First off, if you dumped the can last night today is actually Day 2. So look at that! You're clipping right along!

The first few days are going to difficult, but all you have to do is get through them one at a time. Go into May, post roll, stay quit for today, and then wake up tomorrow and do it all over again.

114 days ago I was where you are now. I can tell you without any reservation that my life is immeasurably better today than it was in October when I was still a slave to the nic bitch.

Spend as much time as you can on this site. Post roll. Get in chat. Read. Exchange your cell number with members of your group so you can keep tabs on each other and so you have someone to call on if the crave strikes hard.

All you have to do is quit one day at a time. Your resolve seems strong, so you will do this.

I'll quit with you today. Congratulations on making the best decision of your life.

oh... and one other thing, we don't TRY here at KTC. We DO. We post roll and we promise our quit brothers we will not chew and we keep our word. That's how we do. There is no TRY here. Remember that.

PM me if you need anything.

Read the welcome center link at the top of the page. It's kind of magenta.

Learn to post roll, you'll be in May.

Post roll
Keep your word
Repeat.

Get ready for some suck, but remember every second of it.
