Rockeman, there is a price for admission to the site - and for the support you are getting. You need to post roll in the April 2014 group. I know that it probably soynds corny to you - it did to all of us - but there is a common thread amongst successful quitters on this site - they post roll every day.

This plan works. Take the step. Join us. Regain your freedom.
We'll put Worktowin. Let's quit j-rok. Just do it. Get er dun

This ^^^ was not quitting,, the patch did you no good. The only way to quit is to trash your stash/all nicotine and never put the poison in your pie hole again.

First, realize that this is not a habit. Your are addicted to one of the most addictive drugs known to man. That's why when you quit you can never have just one. One is to many and 1000 is never enough. This includes the poison in a patch or any other delivery method. The plain simple truth is, the longer you go without the poison the easier it gets.

You want to QUIT? Here's what I recommend. Stop talking about it, thinking about it, hoping, wishing and trying. Trash your stash in the latrine. Post roll and lets do it. Right now you are believing lies that the poison has you believing. This site is here to help you,, all you got to do is follow our lead man. Jump in the quit pool. We don't play here,, we don't act here,, WE QUIT!

Start reading the information in the welcome center. Top left. Learn why and how we post roll. Particularly why. Posting roll will be the backbone of your quit. This is your promise daily to us, yourself and everyone else on Gods green earth that you will no use for the day. We quit one day at a time my friend. What do you say? Your move.

You can do it. You know how I know? I DID! Your nothing special. Your no different then thousands that have used this site to quit. No excuses my friend! It's really up to you to believe all this. It's up to you if you really want to quit. You just don't know it. Take your life back man. Stop being a slave to the poison.
srans hit it man,

you did a nice job over the month (possibly) getting over a little of the habit of the oral fixation of having something in your lip. In of itself not an easy task.

BUT you have still been feeding your body a drug, a very addictive drug called nicotine. It is this that you need to throw by the wayside. This is the part that need to focus on and get this out of your life as without it you will continue to spend overly amounts of money, and with the withdrawals making you go for more, the time away from loved ones.

So rip off the band-aid, set a little nice fire to watch it burn, and jump into a quit group with a day 1 and a promise to keep clean for one day. Then honor that promise and use the site and the people here to help you when you need it.
These 2 guys were instrumental in my success. They are giving you some great words if wisdom. I will just throw in a little more...

First, quitting is simple. You know how to do it. Don't use any nicotine of any sort. You have to make the decision to not use nicotine. Because, and this is a tough mental hurdle for an addict... Using is a choice. You don't need it (I know it feels like you do, but you do not need it to survive.). You have, in the past, chosen to use it.

Secondly, to help you with your decision, this site has a really simple plan to follow. See, you can do anything for one day. It might be tough, but for one day you can win this battle. So, first thing in the morning, and I mean first thing (before walking the dog, going to the bathroom, a romp with whoever you've got with you in bed...) you post your word by posting roll in your quit group. That is your promise to everyone, but especially yourself, that for today only you will not use nicotine in any form. Once your word is posted, lean on the members of this site to support you. There will be tough moments, but you can do anything for a day if you are a man of your word. Day 377 for me today after 25 years and 40 thousand $, and trying to quit every year. This plan works.

Just one more thing, collect some numbers. If I were you, I'd start with Srans and Derek. They are resident bad asses of the art of quitting. Get some in your group too. Feels weird to reach out to a dude you've never talked to in a moment of weakness, right? Losing a jaw hurts worse. Trust me, these guys understand and you'll have a new friend to boot - one that understands what you are fighting when no one in your immediate circle of friends really does. If you need another number, let me know.

Remember: you have a choice. Post your promise. Keep your word.

If I could tell you how much better every aspect of my life is this year vs a year ago right now... You wouldn't even believe me. This is the best decision of your life.
^^^^^^^thats it. Now do it!

HoF Speech

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Make the decision not to use. You should do that now. This includes nicotine patches, gum, etc.

Make sure all your shit is flushed. Post day 1 in April 2014. That's your pledge not to use nicotine for the rest if today. Can you make it the rest of today?

Read everything on KTC. Welcome center, intros, HOF speeches, etc.

Send me a PM if you want my phone number.

If you dump your shit and post roll, I will quit with you today. I went ahead and sent you a PM with my number. Check your inbox.

I wasn't sure where to post this
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:41:00 AM »
So, first, the introduction. My name is John, I'm 25, and I've been dipping for 7 years. I've tried quitting in the past (managed a month and a half without dipping thanks to the patch), but nothing has worked.

I was never addicted to cigarettes when I first started smoking (I was a stress smoker, probably less than a pack a month). But as soon as I dipped the first time, I was hooked. A few months after, I promised myself I would quit by the time I turned 25. I figured, if I could quit by then with no real consequences, I would be alright. But my birthday has come and gone, and I'm just as hooked as I ever have been.

Not only is it a new years resolution (that's what everyone says, right?), but I really do want to quit. Aside from a few more cavities then usual, I haven't had any major problems. But I realize it's time to quit. And I don't know how to.

The last time I thought about quitting, I bought some fake stuff, but it tasted so terrible I couldn't. For the record, since I started, I've only used long cut Grizzly wintergreen. Every once in a while some Skoal, but usually Grizzly only.

My thought has been, if I could find some fake stuff that tastes the same, it would make it much easier.

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to really kick the habit. I really do want to quit, but between the nicotine rush and the physical habit of having a dip in my lip (once an hour, about a tin a day), I don't know how.
