hey everyone,

got a question -- like i am sure all of you have, i got friends that i want to get quit chewing, but i want to take the right approch to get them to this site.

really whats the best way -- inform of the site and let make there own journey or hassel the shit out them.  i dont want to scare/ trun anyone off, but at the same time i care to much not to bug them everyday until they quit.

anyone have any past experince or advice?
I'd just send them a link to the site in an email explaining how you use the site, and how other people use the site. They have to quit for themselves, but let them know the support is here.
Fuck dude you posted this in two places!?!?!!!?!

!$@#$%(@#%(%@#%(

I admit, at first it was slightly awkward explaining this site to most people, like Peter said. What are we internet fags???

But I've gotten over it. I don't really solicit people to come here, unless they bring up quitting first. You can't GET people to quit, diabase.

these are obviously people you care about; friends of yours, so you want them to quit. but, they have to want it. just keep tell 'em how great you are doing. the serious ones will want to know more, than get them over here.

unfortunately, i've seen too many cases, in my short time here, of friends bringing friends over here, only to get burned real fast. brings down their credibility, and then they have to defend themselves and shit. not worth the quit...

Congrats Diabase...you are in the right place. The biggest things for me have been
1. Make the decision today and everyday (see my sig)

2. Get close to this site. Use the chats...get some guys numbers...lean on people when you need it.

3. When you need to cut loose...to get pissed...to yell at someone...come here and yell at us, we understand.

Above all if you need anything PM or email me or whoever you choose...lean on your July mates and get this quit rollin!

You can do this...I have done it, and if I can do it anyone can

Me:
25, Grew up in Oregon moved to California for work, geologist hence the rock screename, girlfrend, no kids.

Tobacco:
Started chewing in college to fit in with my teamates, got hooked and couldnt let it go. gave a few half-harted tries to give it up, but didnt really want to so found my way back to the can.

6 years later i thought i want to give it up, so i check some things online, and then i find this site and now i know i want to Get QUIT!

i am excited To Be QUIT! Not excited about all the crap i have to deal with, but the idea that i can beat this, and that everyone here has been there or is going through it. Means that it can be done, it might not be easy but it can be done. I can be Quit.

I am excited to Be Quit with all of you, i pledge to July and the Minutemen to keep my word and Stay Quit one day at time.

Get QUIT, Be QUIT, Staty QUIT.
