I know its a addiction. I have tried to quit several times before but it is very difficult to get over being irritable to my friends and family and snap at them.
I have told all the people in my life that i am going to quit and that i need there support as well and if i say anything dont take it personal.
Bring on the rage I'm always in for a good fight.
Amen. Wanna bitch at someone, bitch at us here we can take it and may just use you as a punching bag too. Welcome to the group.

If you're serious about quitting this is the right place to be.

I was a total dick for about the first week. If you've told everyone and they know you are quitting, that makes it easier for them to not take anything personally. Avoid long car rides that first week if possible.

Also, if you're feeling really shitty and like you absolutely need a dip, exercise immediately, if you can, I would run until I almost puked or you can just do pushups until you no longer can. It took my mind off it.

I'm only on day 82 but man I feel a hell of a lot better than I did dipping. If you want support or need to talk or figure out this site, feel free to PM me.

First, it is not a habit. What you are dealing with is an addiction. Can you say that you are an addict? Do you want this more than anything else?

Second read the Welcome Center. This will tell you how and why this site works.

Third post roll. Every day we make a promise not only to each other but to ourselves. this site works because of the accountability.

Fourth keep that shit out of your mouth no matter what it takes. Nicotine is the real enemy here so make sure not to ingest nicotine in any form for today. We quit one day at a time because we can control today. Tomorrow is just a dream, today you can choose to be quit.

It really is that simple, it is hard but very very simple. Get some numbers, get some gum, candy, sunflower seeds, fake chew, etc.
