Well team, I finally decided to quit after 20 years of chewing tobacco (Grizzly Wintergreen Longcut), I talked about quitting since the day I got married. My wife absolutely hates the fact that I chewed (a can a day) and asked me to quit 10,000 times. The deciding factor was my sister just had their first baby girl after 5 years of trying to have kids and I thought to myself now would be a great time to kick the habit. At the same time I went to the dentist on Monday the 15th of August after not visiting the dentist in 3 or so years and he told me my teeth looked great but that my lower lip and gums were in a "pre cancer" stage. He then explained that mouth cancer is like climbing a steep hill....it may take some time to get to the top, it's slow going but once you get mouth cancer it is like reaching the peak and rolling 100 mph down the other side of the hill....their is no chemo, there is no treatment other than CUTTING the cancer from my face!! It scared the shit out of me!! It's been tough as hell and my mood has definitely been effected, but sunflower seeds and ice water have helped a ton!! Spitting the seeds into a bottle and dumping the full bottle of seeds down the toilet has been helpful for me. Still tough as hell but so glad I have decided to fuckin man up and quit. This site has been great, reading the struggles that everyone else is going through makes me feel like I'm not the only dipshit going through this self inflicted agony!! Thanks gang.

Welcome Johnny R. This site is a tremendous resource, but there is a cost. No, no one is going to ask for accredit card number - the cost of admission to the site is posting roll. Post roll every single day. Post roll early in the morning.

Use the link that Frazz provided. That is your group. Go to the very last page that includes a roll call, and add your name with the new quitters. You can go to the Welcome Center and learn how to post roll.

The only way to screw up roll is by not being on it.

The accountability of promising your quit brothers and sisters that you won't use nicotine early every day is what makes this site work.

Welcome to the bets decision in your life. Make no mistake, this is not a "habit" that you're trying to break, it is a full-blown addiction, and you can never have one more.

When did you throw out your last dip? That would be your Day 1, so long as you aren't using Nicotine Replacement. Figure out your number of days Quit and then post up roll in your Quit group. Likely that will be November 2016.

Get engaged and let's get down to business.
^^^ solid advice from Fraz!
Get after after it and invest in your quit and stop climbing that mountain!
