Two weeks! by far the longest I've gone since starting. Gotta say my mind is clear and the craves dont last nearly as long, but I still get them quite often. Especially in the car!!!

Keep it up. The bright side to all this ... everyday that is nic free is an accomplishment.

I live with my girlfriend and 9 month old daughter. She is my first child and this has been a blast so far. Oh yeah, we have an 18 month old German Shepherd.

I quit, cause I'm sick of the lies, the money, the stains and the control nic has on my life!

Thanks for the offers of support and advice. Damn, my f'd up mind is trying everything to get me to just have one more dip. I don't think I will be leaving the house tonight to go anywhere.

.
Remember just quit for the day. We do it one day at a time here. Don't look at the big picture, take baby steps. As soon as you know it the days start piling on eachother. Your quit becomes stronger and life gets better.

Also, use the live chat. That will help with the craves.

Hello everyone,
Only 12 hours in and this is the longest I have gone without a dip in a long time(This year makes a decade).
Me dipping every waking hour isn't fair to my girlfriend and my 9month old daughter and I'm plain fed up with it. I have a dip in pretty much every waking hour of the day.

I can tell this is going to be a battle, so it's nice to see a resouce like this community.
Welcome aboard. First and foremost, you are not alone and there are thousands of others that have been in the exact same place as you. Second, you need to understand one thing - what isn't fair is what you are doing to YOURSELF. You have to make this quit about you, right out of the gate.

The good news is, you have a ton of people here to support you, point you in the right direction, share the pitfalls with you so that you can keep from falling into the traps of early quitting, and you have more resources than you could possibly imagine.

Read, read and then read some more on this site. Get to know your fellow quit brothers in your class. Then read some more. Reach out whne you feel you might need help and don't think that you are so special that your situation is any different than some other quitters.

Congrats on one of the best decisions of your life. Let me know if I can help.

It works if you want it to work. When I say "want" I mean want it more than you want anything, if you want to quit read up, start with the welcome center and then head over to the April 2013 quit group and post roll, do that and I'll quit with you. pm me if I can answer any qestions or help you quit.

Irish there is alot of quit going on here everyday. Pay attention to what everyone tells you, there is alot of experience out there. I agree that this quit has got to be for you, nothing wrong with other forms of motivation but ultimately it has got to be for you. I never understood that. In fact 30 years ago while getting some help from a shrink my wife wanted me to quit dipping. I remember him telling us that I would never quit till it was for me. Sure enough it only lasted a few weeks. When I dumped my shit 290 days ago it was for ME! My wife was there to encourage me. But even today I still quit for me. Pm me if I can be of any help.

welcome you made the most inportant decision to quit. Remember when you "try" to do something you are setting up with the intent on failing. The good newsis you not alone everyone here has the same goal. Just post roll and if you need any thing just ask. Congrats on your journey, its tough but worth it!!

I quit 66 days ago, my daughter was also 9 months old at the time. Your right it isn't fair to your girlfriend or daughter, but most of all it isn't fair to you. Stuffing that shit in your face and jeopordizing your health for what? To feed your addiction? Your main reason for quitting has to be you. Face the fact that you are an addict and can never have just one more.

Use your family as motivation, but always remember you quit for yourself. Follow the path laid out by KTC (it does work, but you have to be all in). One day at a time. Welcome and shoot me a pm if you ever need anything, I am happy to exchange numbers.

You've decided to quit and that's step one. There is no trying to quit. It's as simple as being quit or not. Sounds like you have a lot to live for. But remember this is you quit. You have to do it for you; because you want to. If you do it for the wrong reasons, you will fall. We're here to help and are glad you made this choice. You've got a great support system here. You need to head to the April 2013 quit group and post day 1. But remember when you post roll, you are telling everyone here you are quit. The reason this place works is because of integrity and accountability.

Welcome and if you need anything, pm me.
