So first off... You guys thanks for the support... Invader youre totally right habit is the wrong word.... Addiction is the word... Its day 7 now and ive had one backslide yesterday for all of about 10 mins and i just couldnt do it so i spit it out it was gross the fight with the brain is tough but ive been going to the gym alot to train for next years scottish highland games.... Its my goal to get in shape get healthy and compete!
If by "backslide" you mean you had another dip then I think you are back at day 1 of your quit.
Didn't catch that. You are definitely right stranger999. Call it what you want, but you caved! You gave in to the nic bitch. Think about why took the dip, and the thought process before you spit it out. "All of about 10 mins," as you say.. sounds like your brain got your nic fix let you spit it out. So back to day 1, are you going to let the same thing happen again at day 7?

Hi, Josh!

A habit, huh? I have a few habits myself. Cracking my knuckles, hanging my hat in a certain place, turning my porch light on before I go to bed, occasionally picking my nose...

Oh, but I also have an addiction, too. Nicotine addiction. And, if left unchecked, it will kill me as it has many people in my family. My point is not to be a snarky ass, but it's no secret that big tobacco has perpetuated the use of soft language and euphemisms to describe its products. This is no habit, my friend. This is a full blown addiction that's going to require the mindset that you are in for a fight of your life.

But, if you're ready to quit, I'm ready to quit with you! Head on over to December '15 and post roll!

So im josh and i quit 4 days ago and even though its tough it gets easier every day. I worked in the tobacco industry for 3 years and by the time i was done i had a 120$ a DAY cigar habit which transitioned into a much less expensive dip habit. So far its been 4 days cold turkey and ive actually substituted my cravings for chewing gum and grapes as weird as that sounds.. But it seems to be working
Hi Josh,

I am also on Day 4, and have been getting kind of bad cravings today, but I agree with you that each passing day makes it that much easier. I switch between Lifesaver mints, Grinds coffee pouches, and Hot Tamales cinnamon candies. I try to stay away from too many sweets, but find the cinnamon candies really help with cravings, so the hell with it!

I quit with you today.

Stay strong and we'll all get through this together!

-Sean

Four days is awesome Josh! Cold turkey is even better. The nicotine is already out of your system. Now the battle with your brain begins.

Our December Quit Group is here.

topic/11293904/113/

Each day we post our pledge to not use nicotine for that day. Stay quit for that day, repeat the next day.

Don't stress about screwing up your post in the group. If you mess up someone here will fix it.

I look forward to seeing your name with mine on that thread.

I quit with you.
