Ok all, it has come time for me to put down the can and move on with my life.  I never started using chew to get addicted.  After 13 years, I found that I was more than an addicted, I was a slave.  My life began to revolve around the use and time of my next dip.

Last night I took the first step and threw out all of the chew.  Took my second step this morning by not picking up a can on the way to work.  So now, here I am at work without my chew.  Looking for my way to make it through the day.  One day at a time, huh... whoever said that must not have been addicted to nic.  Try one minute at a time.  Going to be a long road, but every journey starts with just one step.
MyCan,

This is the place. If you have backbone, you can do this. It ain't easy. But heck, you put poison into your body for 13 years. Its not like you were eating marshmallows or something...of course its going to be hard. We got to battle through that shit. Fight it. The way to do it is build up a defense brother. Read everything you can on this site. Get your knowledge going. Get to know folks. Post roll every freakin' damn day. There's debate about early or late or midnight or half past my left nut...my take is when you start your day do it on the right foot by posting roll first thing. You put your word down and you stick to your word. That's how we do it.

I'll echo what Souliman says...do it early, first thing every day. I'm usually up late enough to see the next day's roll posted before I go to bed, but I wait. If I start my day by posting roll, it's a promise to my brothers and sisters out there in KTC-land...not as some would say, a status update.

Read, read, read...and then read some more. Get phone numbers, email addresses, Skype addresses, whatever you can get from your brothers and sisters here. Go to the chat room...make whatever connection you can with some people who will support you when the shit gets really thick. Trust me on this, it really works. Check your inbox for a PM from me and reach out if you need to.

I'm glad you are here. This takes some balls, but it does get better I promise. I am on day 11 after a 14 year can a day addiction and I feel better today than yesterday. Each day has been like that with the exception of day 2. After that though, it's mostly psychological. Hang in there and use the site for support, entertainment, distraction, etc. Glad to be quit with you today.
