One more reason to quit that I was thinking about last night as I was sitting on the throne.

I'm so happy that I don't have to try and spit through the opening in my legs to hit the toilet while I'm holding my junk out of the way. Don't get me wrong, I've perfected the skill and 95% of the time it is a good shot but there is always that exception where you don't quite hit the target and you end up with spit on your junk, leg or shirt.

Just one more reason why I'm happy to be quit today.
That's fucking awesome brother.
It's that damn 5% that gets ya! Thick chew broth on the unit, that sucks!

I haven't thought about that in weeks, but this absolutely makes my day. Thank you for reminding me.
The product is worth the process.

What I've found encouraging about this site are all of the similar stories and patterns. Thanks to the members of KTC.

My beginnings with dip started when I was in 6th grade. Seems like there was always that older kid around who thought it was cool to watch the younger ones yack on the first try of dip. Nonetheless my parents smoked like chimneys so tobacco was common to me and my sister. We would frequently steal cigarettes from my drunk and passed out parents. Moving on to high school I wasn't much of a dipper or smoker. I got pretty heavily involved in sports so didn't rely on that much. Close to graduation and in between college and the USMC I started picking up dip more and more.
I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1991 and really began my dipping seriously. I would continually tell myself that I needed to quit but I just couldn't pull it off. After my overseas tour I came back to the States and was stationed in Quantico, VA. I got married in February 1992 to my wife who had no idea that I dipped. Once she found out she let me know that she would rather put her tongue down a sink drain. That's all it took so on August 16th, 1992 I quit dip. Cold turkey and not really much of an issue even around a platoon full of dipping Marines.

Fast forward 12 years. My ego got to me. I used to tell my wife how much I would love a dip just joking since I knew I would never do it. My Dad and I started fishing and he would start bringing cigars so I would start lighting those up regularly. I quickly became addicted to Nic once again. I love to play basketball even at my older age so smoking really disgusted me anyway. I thought, what a genius idea to pick dipping back up.

  What a moron. So in 2005 I traded smoking cigars for dipping and have been hooked ever since. I have dipped while doing every activity imaginable. I thought I was hiding it pretty well but then my boys (10 and 11 years old) would find these cans of Grizzly around and I would have to make up some excuse. That kills me. I hate to think I would ever lie to my kids but the love of Nic made me chose to do that to my wife and kids. I've hidden cans of dip, hidden receipts, lied, spit in places I never should have and covered this area which is just wrong. I love my wife and I love my kids more than anything. I've beaten this bitch once and I'll put her back in place again. No Nic for me -ever. I'm a committed man and its time I start acting like a true father and husband. Feels good to man up.

My wife is thrilled that I found this site. I've also convinced my brother in law to join so hopefully he will be deciding on his quit this weekend. 'army'

I'm almost to day 8 so cut me a little slack. I'm craving the pinch between the lip and gum. For the past few days I've made a concoction of bold coffee grounds, cayenne pepper and a smidge of Pendleton whiskey. I have two tupperware containers of this crap. One that is wintergreen - mixed with the finest Oregon Mint Snuff (tobacco free of course) and one bold without the mixture.

What's funny is - my boys who are 10 and 11, and keep me quite accountable say "Dad, I thought you quit dipping, what are putting in your lip?" - Coffee son, just coffee, want a pinch? My boys think I'm crazy as the Dad who likes to take a pinch of coffee between the lip and gum. Hey, whatever works right.

Had to share. BTW, my wife was rolling on the floor the other night as I was mixing up the different dips and using her tupperware. She couldn't believe I could be jonesing so bad for a dip.

I love her and she is so supportive.
This cracks me up. I too, mixed coffee grounds with Tabasco (yea, I said it bitch). It tore my gums to Hell! I finally found Hooch Spitfire. It's pre-mixed, and doesn't cut my gums to Hell.

It's funny, the coffee tore me up more than 'Hagen did.

Lots of guys are against the fake dip, but I don't think I would be at 185 without it.

My two cents...
hey whatever keeps the shit out of your lip, that is some funny shit

Great story.. hit on the right mix and you may be able to quit nic and work!! :D
Love the story GreMonster. So this coffee concoction you mix up, is that fresh grounds? Do you powder it like espresso or a little more rough like auto drip?

I am with your wife on this one. That is some funny shit 'crackup'
