I've been dipping off and on for the past 30 years. Mostly when I'm out with my National Guard Unit in the field, or on long drives or while doing yard work. I need to quit now My wife and Kids keep asking me to quit I need some real help. Any help would be great. Please email me and I can send you my cell number and see what I can do to stop  'bang head'
I'd reccomend getting some fake dip.

Right about now is when a vet comes along with a pretyped speech, mentioning the welcome center, posting roll in the june 2012 group.

Basically here we post roll everyday promising to ourselves and the brothers in our group to not use nicotine in any form today.

Connect with guys on this site. Everyone on here genuinely wants to help other quitters stay quit.
Yo Kayak,
I caught the veiled jab at the vets in this. Certainly you are not suggesting that vets have stacks of prefabricated speeches and quips for us newbies, are you?

"Sooner or later, a so-called veteran of tobacco cessation will come in, get you in a headlock and rub noogies on your skull like the bullying big brothers that they are while you grasp the air for your snuff can. Once you cry Uncle, they'll mention the welcome center and tell you how to post roll in the appropriate group before slapping you on the ass and saying 'good hustle'".

By the way, the whole posting roll process is an exercise in futility. This is the year 2012, folks, why are we using a 1990-era BBS system to aggregate group responses and frustrate the living shit out of each other. The video describing the roll-posting process is priceless. Are you kidding me? Quote, select all, cut, paste, modify with your name/date, then hit "post reply" and sit back, watch, and pray you didn't bump others nor get 'bumped' yourself?
That wasn't meant to be a jab at all.

What I was saying was that someone was more qualified and could explain better the act of posting roll.

I'm not that guy

Looking forward to quitting with you Doc i also would recommend the fake dip some think its risky but part of the addiction is having something between our cheek and gums.
There is no doubt that the "oral fixation" plays a part in our addiction. You'll hear very few people who draw a hard line against fake dip (herbal chew). Even those that don't use the fake chew will likely tell you to chow down on the fake stuff if it means the difference between using nicotine or not. I get the impression that most people that use the fake chew eventually get to the point that they use it less and less over time. I went 30+ days without fake dip, but have used it a couple of times on a recent car trip.

My personal view: I don't care if you chew on a goat's ass, if that's what it takes to keep you from using nicotine.
I'm not gonna chew on a goat's ass. But whatever floats yer boat may-tee, ZAM

Brother man, you're on the right path, but the journey is a long one. I came here

hopin to find a quick fix to quit, and it sounds like you did too. You want the cure??? here it is:

-Wake up

-Piss

-Post roll (giving your word to your quit brother that you will be quit TODAY)

So head on over to The Welcome Center and learn how to post roll

Then head on over to your new quit group PreHOF June'12 and introduce yourself and post roll. Don't fuck with the system...it works

Reach out to your quit brothers and get numbers from your quit bros...you got one already (check your inbox)
Quit date: 11/21/11
HOF date: 2/28/12
Comma date: 8/16/14

First of all, welcome to KTC, and all the help that you'll need to stay quit. Read everything in the welcome center, for starters. Know this, and back me up here vets: your wife and kids won't keep you quit. YOU gotta want to be quit.

When your ready to promise me, to give me your word, that you won't dip today, head over to the June group and post roll. We do this one day at a time, and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. And we hold each other accountable for those promises.

Check your private messages.

Edit: Holy shit, I forgot about the avatar. DISREGARD the avatar!!
