Hello everyone! I am on Day 6 of my quit and feeling better. I have chewed for nearly 30 yrs. I constantly had a dip in. I chewed 2 cans per day. Finally after I had blood work done and the Dr talked to me about how this contributes to my high BP, I decided it's just not worth it. I have loved chewing. To me it was one of those simple pleasures and I got started at a time athletes were advertising it. There is no denying how harmful it is anymore though. I want to live and represent a healthy life style. I have three wonderful sons that I want to enjoy for many years. My oldest son is a linebacker for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and my middle son wrestles at Nebraska. My youngest is getting ready to start high school and I want to be around to enjoy things! They have been an inspiration to me with their dedication and commitment and I need to be a better role model and walk the walk and not just talk. I have a wonderful wife of 23yrs who has been a rock and I want to enjoy many more years with my family. The slow death I've been living has got to stop. I have been truly blessed. I can't let the bastard win this time!

As a coach and a dad of 4 sons, I have to tell you one of the strongest motivators is knowing that if I didn't quit, I would be missing out on seeing not only the kids I coach but MY own kids grow up. Good choice on deciding to quit and welcome to the brotherhood...
Blah...Blah...Blah...You keep TALKIN....I'll keep QUITTIN

I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to support YOUR quit.

A good friend of mine's son plays for Oklahoma. We should fight. Just kidding. Football rules, soccer drools, you should be proud of doing this and being around your kids. It's the right thing. Dip is for the weak!!

Post roll everyday. Get involved. We will help you.

Get over the fact that dip was one of those "simple pleasures". I am sure 9 out of 10 dips sucked. Your mouth hurt, your gums hurt, the shit was dry, you hands smelled, your car was dirty. got to get over that glamorization and it will get easier.
That is so right on Glenn. Maybe one dip per day was any good. The rest sucked. I didn't really realize that until I quit. I have been quit for 6 days now as well and wish I would have quit 10 years ago

I had the same BP problem too Skipper. Even on BP meds mine would read up to 160/100...dangerous levels there. Now I check mine several times a week and it has never been over 130/85 and I am off the meds. Amazing how that works.

GO BIG RED!!!
