Firstly, let me welcome you to our group. If you haven't dumped all your nicotine now, by all means do so right away. I'll wait here until you're done.

Nicotine all gone now? Good; let's begin. I am Jim, nicotine-clean by the grace of God since 11 November 2016.

About your quit: You may have noticed that you have been encouraged to post roll. This is more than just signing a sheet. It is a promise that we will not use nicotine today. The reason why this is so crucial is because of the Law of Addiction - nicotine addiction does not die, it merely becomes dormant - and one hit of nicotine is all it takes to re-establish the addiction. This will be true for the rest of our lives. So yes...yes, do post roll every day.

Nicotine withdrawal typically ends within 72 hours of the last nicotine fix. If you're like most quitters, you will notice that your desire to use nicotine will fade away at the end of the first week. After this, it's all psychological. Just remember the Law of Addiction - no nicotine, ever; no excuse for caving, ever - and it is inevitable that you will be free from nicotine, forever.

Above all else, remember that we are drug addicts. Just like any other addict, there's no cure, but there is a way to live drug-free. Stay
abstinent and focus on personal growth. That will keep you free from nicotine, for all time.

Greetings my friends. I've lurked on this site for some time, knowing I need to quit dipping because it's killing me slowly. I hate it. I love it. I hate it. But really, I just know that I'm better off, richer in health, time and money if I just put the can down and walk away. But I do need help and motivation to continue. Today I poured out 1/2 can of Copenhagen. I don't want another. I know at some point in the next few days, weeks and months I'm going to be in my local and be tempted, just one can, just to take the edge off. But I'm writing this right now so that I can read it later and remember, no. I don't want it. I don't need it. It's just a temporary fix and I'll wind up right where I am now: Desperate to quit.

I dipped some as a teen, here and there in my 20s but 2 years ago I picked up some Redman because I was missing my grandpa and that was his brand. That led to Copenhagen full time, can a day ever since. Sometimes more. It's expensive. My breath stinks. Food doesn't taste that great. I see my gums have receded somewhat. I lost a crown on one tooth and have lived with a temporary for nearly 2 years now, I know for a fact the tobacco caused the tooth to weaken away and break off, crown and all.

So as I type this I know the next few days, weeks and months aren't going to be pleasant. I'm going to want a dip tonight after dinner as is my usual. I'm going to reason that I can taper down and then quit - that hasn't worked so far and it's not going to work this time, either. So it's cold turkey.

I wish you all the very best in your quit and I hope you'll support me in mine. God knows I'll need it.

Lear to post roll by going to the Visitor Center, then I will support you. Learn to hate tobacco in all it's forms.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.
