My name is Brian. I am 33 from Southeastern La.
Unfortunately I have been dipping for as long as I can remember.
I have failed a few times trying to quit, once making it around a month.
I don't know why I do it except for the habit. Often times when I take one out I wish I had never put it in. I get tired of relying on dip.
I have finally had enough. I want to be there for my 2 1/2 year old son and my wife for as long as possible. Even my son tells me yuck when he sees me spitting. I feel terrible when he does.
Wish me luck.
Alright Brian,
First off, great decision to get quit and you are in the right place. We all learned to quit here. You can too. First thing to do is post roll. Read the Welcome center (pink button on your top left) it will explain how and why we post roll.
Like I said, you can do this.....
You have to change some of your thinking. You need to read everything on here, and learn.
Here are a few of the standout problems with your thinking.
1) You don't need "luck" to "try" to quit. No luck or trying around here. We make a pact to quit one day at a time and we keep our word.
2) you never quit before.. you just stopped for a while. Now, you have the tools available to you to get this quit done.
3)Dipping isn't a habit. Putting on your seatbelt is a habit. What you have is an addiction. You are an addict, just like the rest of us. That is why you need the tools here.
You can do this, and you will find a brotherhood here that will support you like no other, but you have to buy into the KTC way, and dive headfirst into your quit, burning all connection to the nic-bitch in the evil can.
Glad to be quit with you.
Click my name, and send me a PM and we can exchange numbers. It may seem weird, but it is part of the KTC way... accountability... It will become clear with time.
