wait wait wait.. before you come signing october and dropping another stink bomb in the place, are you nicotine free? this has been a rather dramatic day due to some patch users..

you gotta commit to cold turkey.. read a LOT and then sign roll call and commit no nicotine today and do that with us every day! its accountability.

"t has been 60 some hours since my last dip. I can tell you now it is an addiction. My head is pounding. I am walking around in a daze. I have been on the edge of quitting on quitting several times today. Even pulled into the gas station twice. "

From the looks of those symptoms, he is quit.

I have been dipping since I was 12 years old. That is 25 years. Yes I know I am old. I never really looked at it as an addiction. Just something I had always done that calmed my nerves.

It has been 60 some hours since my last dip. I can tell you now it is an addiction. My head is pounding. I am walking around in a daze. I have been on the edge of quitting on quitting several times today. Even pulled into the gas station twice.

I am lucky as far as work goes. i work 24 on and get 48 off. I am returning to work tomorrow and not to sure how that is going to go without a dip.
You may want to PM a kind fellow who goes by "MedicDan"...sounds like you two have a vocation in common. He is a rock-solid quitter, who quit along with me and 52 others in the May 2010 group. He did it, I did it...you can do it too!

Dip is no longer a viable option. Do something else, like origami or sit-ups or streaking down Main Street...just don't dip! Simple...but not easy.
Tomorrow will go the same way no matter what your choice on dip is. The only thing dip is good for is keeping you addicted to dip.

A heroin junkie is an alcoholic, is a crack head, is a tweaker, is a coke head , is a nicotine addict. The damage they do are the same, the use rationalizations are the same, the lies you tell are no different . The choice of drugs is the ONLY difference.

Think I'm full of shit? lets use your medical knowledge. Nicotine is a stimulant. But yet you think it calms you down? It increases your heart rate, releases adrenaline. Not calming actions, but your the Med. dude so maybe I'm off here.

How bout this theory, and I'm just spit ballin here, How bout that calm you think your getting is actually only the satisfaction of your withdrawl symptoms. I think if your shooting Heroin they call it getting well or fixing right?

Ride it out , it gets easier, it was too hard to get to the moment your in right now to just throw it away, how many tries ? how many years ? how many chances?
The hurt your feeling right now is your body screaming for the poison you have been stuffing in your lip. That has to piss you off right? The knowledge that you were sold a bunch of horseshit about being a big boy, a sports star, pro athelete, cowboy, tough guy at the edge of 12. They hooked you on the most lethal pesticide produced by man when you were a fucking kid. They did it on purpose. Your nothing but a cash cow in a herd full of addicts. You better get your mind right and get pissed off. Fuck US Tobacco and their copper ringed buckets of fruit flavored cancer. YOU CAN DO THIS MEDIC. if I can anybody can. You just have to decide,

These guys are right. You MUST get your mind right for this to work. Like SM says think about the fact that UST hooked you when you were a child. They knew what they were doing then and they know what they are doing now. Go to my intro page and read the article about Nicotine candy, same drug, different wrapper.

Get pissed at these fucks, your health, your families suffering none of that means shit to these people. Do not give them another cent of your hard earned money.

You CAN do this.... will you ??

"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

I drove a tractor around in a large circle for 10 hours today, driving all day and going no where. That job usually requires a large amount of worm shit, but I did it today without. If I can do this, you can also. Don't listen to the mind fuck, it will eventually settle down. Read the stories and look at the pictures, you don't want to die like that. Believe me, you can do this.

Let me tell you, its not going to go well. Quitting on quitting? Pulling into gas stations? You are setting yourself up already.....making excuses. Quit it already.

Find the October quit group, sign the roll call, read up, post and get involved. Once you sign the roll call, dip is off the table for today, if you are a man of your word.

Are you?

Oh yeah, then repeat tomorrow....one day at a time.
