Matt,
What helped me is right off the bat someone corrected me on terminology...casual habit...its not a habit its an addiction. Like you I am addicted to nicotine we never win the war against her she is always lurking... as soon as I put it together that I was an addict I was able to battle her much better than ever before yep we are just like crack addicts and any other addict. The legality is what trips people up, which really is nothing more than an addict brain talking looking for the loop hole to use. Keep the site close and quit for yourself first of all, put it before anything you do. Wake up post roll right away give us your word and repeat. PM if you need anything.

Welcome. What these guys have said so far is so true. It's gonna be bad but in the end it's worth it. Post roll every day, get some alternatives if you need them (gum, jerky, seeds, herbal dip, etc.) and connect with your fellow quitters.
I quit on 4-8-13

Mr. Workman congrats on your second day. Be sure to post roll. Yes, it is a kind of a committment (but not financial, no credit card number or SS given), but that's a good thing when you are trying to quit something like nicotine, they tell me. In fact I know this is true because I just went through the crave and some weird-out feeling that the N could have fixed, but I stood strong.

Use the instructions on the link that's with my last reply, from earlier today. I don't mean to hound you about this just a friendly reminder.

I'll leave the hounding up to the other dogs on this site.

Matt

Matt this is going to be really hard pure unadulterated hell to be exact, it is worth it though. Your life is worth it. And you can do it, we all did. Post roll every damn day never miss and do it early. It is like a safety blanket over your quit. You would have to break your word to dip and that's not an option. Man before you know it the days start getting better. I will quit with you I am addicted to it.

Thanks Matt. I have been chewing for about 12 years. It started as a very casual habit (college football Saturdays) but started increasing and a few years later I was up to a can a day of Skoal Mint Pouches. I am very tired of hiding behind a can and ready to take back my life. I have a two year old daughter that I want to be around for and it's pretty scary when your kid finds your cans and brings them to you saying "daddy, here you go".

Looking forward to checking in tomorrow.

Matt
