I've been scared to death every dentist checkup of the "C" word so I finally decided to give it up (yesterday) after 25 years of sucking on this crap.  Although I feel like I could rip the head off of a cute bunny right now I know it is the right decision.  I have four kids that are watching my actions and I don't want them to repeat the same.  Thanks a crapload to my big brother for giving me that first dip back in '84 and shame on me for continuing with it in '85.
Yep, we've all been there. If I can do this after 19 years, so can you. If you read my HOF speech, you'll see similar anger. Use that to your advantage, because it has been one of my best weapons in this battle with nicotine. You are about to go through some tough times and experience some emotions you haven't seen in many years, but at 253 days clean, I can tell you the benefits are more than worth it. Get started posting, get some numbers, and let's do this. Let me know if I can help.
Hey, going to the dentist now is great - but he was not the scary one - the hygenist with the damn scrapers and hammer claws always got the best of me - now that she aint pulling a tin of dip out from betwixt my chompers - i just can just concentrate on the boobs behind the white coat. My thoughts "come on baby - just lean over a little bit farther....................little more......................little more................."
Best decision you've made - I was a 30 year dipper and I'm now approaching 1 year of freedom. The difference is once you:
- really want to quit
- make a plan (get fake stuff and don't be afraid to use it)
- make it public
- post every day, read, stay in contact, keep your word
- Know that you can't ever have just 1 dip. Had 2 guys fail after 200 days because they thought they could have just 1 dip, which leads to 1 can, which leads to 1 addiction.

Can't ever have nic dip again.

Let me know if you need a contact - email or PM me.
Hey, Scooners... just wondering if that is the hygenist that posed for your avatar.

I know what you mean by the paranoia every time that you develop a sore or lesion in your mouth, you think the worst the big C ! That was the main thing that motivated my quit 22 days ago! Hang in there and we will ride the storm out together. Nico

Wow Tim, you sound almost exactly like I did a month or two ago. You can do this, you WILL do this if you will be a man of your word. Promise no dip today, then repeat tomorrow.
I am so glad I quit after chewing since '85 myself, you will be too.
Embrace the suck, get through it and never have to do it again.
Last can I opened was a can of whoop ass.
