Allen,
If your day two is as bad as mine was you may not understand this, lmao. This sucks we understand. It fucking hurts we've all felt it, and it's mentally hell. Keep your promise today and get up in the morning and post yourself in roll again. I am quiting with you today.
I would rather lose to a cheater than win as a cheater.

There is no luck. You don't need luck. If you want to quit then do it; success is entirely up to you and your actions.

Quitting is not easy and while it does get easier with time (200+ days later in my case) it is a constant battle. So, instead of luck learn about, and gather, a few tools to keep with you at all times:

1) Your word - this is the strongest tool of all. Post early - keep your word today
2) Get numbers - send texts just for the hell of it. Ask how they are doing. Get to know these people that way when a crisis happens (and it will) they are not strangers and reaching out is easier to do. Send a PM to someone in your group, a vet, a random quitter - whatever. Offer your number and I bet you get their back. Check your Inbox (1)
3) READ - nothing kills a crave like reading and Intro or HOF speech. You will realize that we have all been in your situation before and made it through. Sorry, you are not that special after all.
4) Alternatives - when that void between your cheek and gums is getting too much fill it with gum, seeds, hard candy, tooth picks, coffee stirs, tea bags, fake dip, whatever. Keep a supply at work and definitely in your car.

Congrats on taking this first step.
Whoever this guy is, you need to listen to him Aleny. That's my personal tip.

18 . . . wow. You are sitting at the crossroads, my friend. Cut the chains off now, or let them burrow into your skin for another 20 years (or more) until you can't remember a life without your nicotine master.

I would also like to know your reasons for quitting, I wish I had have wanted to quit when I was 18! Good job on the quit!

I am quitting because it's too expensive especially when I'm going off to college, also because I want to be a SEAL and the training I need to do prior to joining the SEAL unit at the university of Florida's naval ROTC is extremely tough. It helps me focus better on workouts when I don't have dip on my mind.

I am only 18 and have already been dipping for years, I've wanted to quit but never had any luck lasting more than a week or so. But I've decided to be done now, and would like to know if anyone has any personal tips that helped them kick this habit.
Thisten to what all the bad ass quitter's tell you. I saw that you havent posted roll yet? Get on over to the August 13 quit group and post up your promise not to use for the day, then repeat tomorrow. Just take it one day at a time. I do want to point out in your intro where you said "kick this HABIT" Dipping is an addiction and you need to see that. Its so much worse than just a habit. Once you realize that you are indeed an addict, just like the rest of us. Your quit will be so much stronger.

What's up man? I'm also quitting at pretty much the same time as you. Listen. I started dipping when I was 18 and here I am at 35 after wasting damn near 2 decades realizing what a waste chewing/dipping is. Don't let it take you that many years to realize this. This place is awesome man. So many cool guys that give you pep talks and pump you up. You can do it. Kick this nicotine sheet to the curb.
You two, need to exchange information right now. BE accountable to each other. KC, take this young man under your wing and keep his ass quit with you.

All of the advice given will greatly increase your odds. I'll be honest with you you have your age going against you, the younger you are the greater chance you have of caving. That's enough negative. If you want to quit bad enough you can win by quitting one day at a time. Take all the advice, use it and damn it quit. Don't let the bitch get you.

Be Honest, stick with it. We will quit with you today..

PM anyone of us..

My suggestion is to find something to swap use Gum, or Fake stuff or Sunflower Seeds anything to put you past the oral craving

Just Quit Today.. AND when Tomorrow becomes Today you Quit for Today.

It may be 10 seconds at a time, i avoided my usual stops on the way home for a few days. I did pickup the Fake stuff (Smoky Mountain) and it helps.

You're 18, you know how many bad ass quitters here would love to have the opportunity you have right now?

Don't screw this up, quit, make your promises, be a man and dump this shit. Get accountable.

Get phone numbers and names and make sure you hand out your number to anyone. No excuses no BS, get your quit on.

Listen get your stuff together. Seed Gum candy fake dip whatever. Water, Water WATER!!!! Hydrate, if you pass a pisser and dont take one drink more. When the craves hit, hit the deck and do push-ups or run or lift weights or whatever. If you can take a breath you cant crave.

step 1: Stop using any form of nicotine
step 2: Read All of this
step 3: Post roll HERE
step 4: Always keep your promise one day at a time

It is that easy, you will have your ups an downs but that is what we are here to help with. Congrats on your decision, now is time to start.
I have been Quit for several years and I still wake up every morning and quit one day at a time.  I figure if it worked yesterday, it will work today.  Never ever get complacent in your quit!

read everything you can on this site. There are a ton of info...for someone around your age i would for sure read and watch the Sear Marsee story. I started when i was 14 and i so wish to holy hell i would have had the balls to put it down when i was 18....i'm 31 as of yesterday and i'm 14 days quit. Post roll and lean on your quit group. And lastly, bear down son, the next few days are not much fun.
Boy I sure could use a beer right about now!
