so my story....I have considered myself clean of dope for 14 months thanks to a fellowship. Where I come from it is completely acceptable to claim to be clean and sucking on a dip and slamming coffee. It is refreshing to hear people refer to nic as the life sucking b*tch I know and not just minimizing...oh I'm not banging dope no more I can live with the nicotine and caffeine.....well I can't!!! My days revolve around my dip...constant obsession about how this dip or the next is going to be the most effective.
SO I'm on day four and the fog is clearing and I just keep telling myself don't use no matter what and all the other cliches from the fellowship they really do seem to help. I talk to others in my fellowship and go to meetings but I'm grateful Ive found this site to hear the experience, strength, and hope from other nic addicts
Welcome to the site, ryanlitwiller!
If you want to quit, you've come to the right place for support. Day 4 is big, really big. You're on your way. The nicotine is out of your system and the rest of the journey involves defeating the "head games" that you're addiction will induce.
This is a cold turkey site. Flush every form of nicotine and head on over to the October 2011 HOF Class and post roll.
It's this simple and this difficult:
1) Post roll, making your promise to your group that you not use NIC that day.
2) Keep your word.
3) Repeat the process the next day.
Nic is one of the most addictive substances a person can ingest. It's dope and it will kill you. I like your "rage." Fan it to flames. Get so angry at dip/nic that when you think of it, you give it the finger and walk away!
You'll have lots of support here. You can do this! If I can quit, so can you.
