It's 1:50 am here on the east coast and I'm an hour and 50 minutes into day 7 of my quit.  I'm motivated and feeling good after 15+ years on the crap, but man would I love to get some sleep!  I'm a former Marine that picked that nasty habit up in my early teens.  At my peak, I was dipping two cans a day.  Over the last few months I scaled back to about half a can a day until I kicked it completely on October 9th.  So far so good...haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary and the days are getting better.  I know it's a long journey, but this certainly isn't the toughest thing I've had to deal with and I'm not looking back.  The wife and I have our first baby coming in April, so that adds to my motivation.

Hope to get to know some of you all on this journey and look forward to being a bona fide quitter!
How we doing bro? Great to see you stepping into a decision to be free from that poison. The sleep will come. And it may go and come back again. We've spent years destroying our bodies and brain chemistry. Gonna take a minute to get those wires straightened out again. I'm here for ya. PM me if there is anything I can help with.

Peace.
Welcome and congrats on quitting that evil damn can. First thing you need to do is head on over to the Jan 14 quit group and post roll. There are tens of thousands of bad ass quitters on here that would drop damn near anything to help a quitter in need. If you need anything at all feel free to pm me.

First. Thank you for your service to this country. Second, welcome to the group and congrats on being 7 days quit. I'm like you. I promised my wife that I would quit Copenhagen when she got pregnant with our first child. That was 10 years ago, and I had zero intention on quitting at that time. I was just playingthe typical addict role and lying to my loved ones. I've been quit for 17 days now and I've made it with the help and support form the guys on this site. I'll be sending you my number so check your inbox. It's good to quit with you today.

Nice decision to quit bro! When you get up this am, get in and post roll in the Jan 2014 group. Directions are in the Welcome Center. You mentioned that this is a long road... not necessarily so. We break the road down ODAAT (one day at a time) here on this site. We commit to quitting for today and today only. You don't have to worry about tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, 10 years from now.... You don't control any of that and that is why we don't worry about it. What you do control is what you are doing this minute and this day before you. You can control your actions today and keep dip out of your mouth! I chose to quit this morning and that is what I will do today. You can do this! Quit with you today my friend!
7 Days is badass. Keep ahnging in there. There will be more ups and downs, but it will keep on getting better.

Great choice to quit! If you want to stay quit you need to educate yourself about our enemy: nicotine! Read the welcome center and then read intro threads and HOF speeches; read words of wisdom. Get to know the lies we tell ourselves that lets the nicotine back into our lives. Glad you are powering through your first week, but if you read a few intro threads you will find that for many quitters the hardest part of their quits came at some point after the first week, and it is helpful to be ready for what may come next. PM me if you need.

Welcome to KTC, you found us for a reason. Now go to the top left of this page and read the Welcome Center. It doesn't take very long but it will explain how we quit around here. Once you are done there go post roll in January '14. Roll is your promise to yourself and to all of us that you will not use nicotine in any form today. 1 day is all we ask. Yesterday is gone but today is here and we can control what we do today.

Shoot me a pm if you have any questions or need a number.

BTW, you didn't/don't have a habit. You are an addict that is addicted to one of the most powerful drugs on the planet.

I also told myself I would quit when my first son was born. And when my second was born. And on birthdays. And New Years.... The list goes on and on but something to think about is that you are worth quitting for. Do this for you and no one else.
