welcome to the fray

i dipped cope pretty much every waking moment for almost 30 years (yeah, i'm an old fart too)

coupla things......

post roll first thing each morning.....realize you are laying your honor, integrity and reputation on this site on the line with every roll post. i look at it as the same as shaking my hand, looking me in the eye and giving me your word. I believe you because you said so.....never allow your addiction to cause you to lose that trust with me, your group and every other quitter on here.

we've all tried and failed......this will work. you are not alone. i've been there and so have a ton of other quitters....we get it and understand what you are and will go thru.....we have your back and want you to succeed and will do anything we can to help you....but ultimately, it is your choice and the value you place on your principles......

read, learn, get involved and again....welcome.....if i can help you, pm me and let me know

Good job, keep going. Try not to focus on how many times you were sucessfull in the past. I did that so many times and failed. That is over. Now is all that matters. It will suck, you have been there and know what will happen. Most important is what are you going to do differently this time so it is permanant...........God bless

4th time quitter
« on: December 09, 2010, 12:36:00 PM »
I'm a 27 year dipper, first started in college. Light use in the beginning, continued off and on after college, quit altogether about 15 years ago. That lasted 2 years, one little hiccup on a golf trip and I was back on board.

Have quit twice more for 6+ months or so. Always seem to come back.

I believe now I am dipping more that at anytime in my life....for no apparent reason, as far as I can tell, and I know it's time to quit. I'm a 2-3 can a week Timberwolf dark blue, and I really don't enjoy it at all anymore. When I did it less often, I actually enjoyed it some. Now, I recognize it as the parasite that it is, and am determined not to let it continue to dominate the remainder of my life.

I'm on day 3 of my most recent, and permanant, quit.
