Thanks for all the tips.

I've been using Smokey Mountain, Altoids, and beef jerky over the last 3 days and its helped...ALOT. I can't imagine doing it just 100% cold turkey with nothing to chew on.

Yes welcome filthy1.
Raiders X 10 tools for the the newbie

1. POST ROLL
2. Find nic free substitute - seeds, fake stuff, gum, rectal thermometers, whatever
3. POST ROLL
4. Deal with today and today only. Tomorrow will take care of itself
5. Exercise plan - optional but encouraged. if you do train, you may want to mix it up because if you are like a lot of us here you most likely dipped after training.
6. POST ROLL
7. Find a hobby or hobbies if you do not have any. Something that will keep your mind and body busy. Mine is running nake through malls. I live in Canada eh and it is pretty cold up here so running naked outside is discouraged.
8. Post, read, laugh and vent on this site. Get numbers if you want but really go through as much of the stuff on this site as you can
9. Set up local support group- find people you can talk to about what you are going through. By talk I mean people you can touch, see, feel not us faceless nameless turds. I find this is very important.
10. POST ROLL

PEACE OUT

It will be 72 hrs at 10 pm tonight.

Smokey mountain and altoids have been my friend

I'm 28, been using snuff since i was 15. Started dipping regularly when i was 18. I quit twice while i was in college. Longest quit was 6 months.

I have a family now, and a 3 month old son, which is my main reason for quitting.

Been a can a day+ for 10+ years.

Good job on the quit. Now you'll need to find your quit group(currently August 2012) and then post roll (Every day)

Check out the WELCOME CENTER for all the information.

Then make sure you check out how to post roll

here is a video on how to do it.

Get into your quit group and post roll every day. Great job on the best decision of your life.

PM me if you have any questions.

It's good that your family can be used for motivation, but you have to want to quit for you. I think you might find yourself slipping back in if your quit is for them and not for you. It sounds selfish, but dipping is selfish habit.
I've already posted in roll call.

Let me clarify...I'm using my 3 month old son as additional motivation, but I really do want to quit.

I woke up on Tuesday (5/1) morning and decided that I was done dipping. No planning, no nothing, just pure quit.

This is the only time I've ever been serious about "the quit" and it will be the only time because I'm going to win this game...forever.
right on filthy one!

I had no plan. Just went into chat here and my quit started with me throwing my can out. Brand new can. I put in two pouches and Dippshit asked me if I was dipping. He asked me to spit it out while in chat.

Well I chucked it and haven't touched it. Day 51!!!!

My worst days were thinking about being quit forever. Yes that is the goal but it isn't realistic to an addicted mind. Our minds our different now. Deal with that by planning differently.

You quit today, post roll, keep your word. Never think about being quit forever. Only think about today.

IF you wake up tomorrow, repeat. That is the only way you can quit forever. For now Forever is only as long as today. That's it. Just day by day. Then you will look back on your days quit and realize you have quit cred.

Keep a journal. (This intro can be it) I was re-reading mine last night. retracing 50 days quit...I look back, I LOVE BEING QUIT.

You are on a journey to freedom my friend. The journey is hard, that is why so many stop walking. If followed, you will think, "I have had some battles but the program is simple."

Welcome to quit-ville. No nonsense and serious quitters. No compassion for a cave.
You will never hear, "nice try" You will get your ass ripped up one side and down the other if you don't post roll and keep your word every day.

As addicts, we need to be punched in the mouth and woken up. Nice "atta boys" and "You can do it next time" when you fail is not good love. Its pathetic. When you claim victory and hate tobacco like we do, you will be congratulated.

We reward victories and curse failure. If you are too stupid to post roll, keep your word and repeat every day, then you chose to be nicotine's bitch. If you post roll, keep your word and repeat every day, then you will control your addiction and love the freedom. Welcome You Are Now In Hell....Keep your focus and keep walking, it will get much better. You will love being quit after you embrace the suck.
