Day 2 Has had its ups and downs. Have had a headache all damn day but I expected that. Co-worker was "motivated " and decided to quit this morning.....he made it till lunch. Did tell him about the site though.

Don't think I've been to much of a dick but I did warn my boss to not take offense if I got snappy towards him. (He likes to push people buttons sometimes)
I told my boss and the people who work for me that I was quitting, and told them that if I seem on edge I apologize. It's good to let everyone know, because if your anything like me, you will occasionaly lose your cool and bite people's heads off. The rage and impatience was (and still is) the toughest factor in my quit.

I even left work early a couple times in the first few weeks of my quit because I couldn't deal with some of the idiots I work with. Rest assured though, you will learn how to deal with stress better...just takes time. I'm dealing with things better now.

Congrats on Day 2, but remember...it is ONE day at a time. Focus on right now. Just get through today, post roll, and do it again.

Read all you can on this site...tons of genius to be mined on here. Sleep will get tough, start taking metamucil now...don't wait. Drink tons of water and exercise.

Nic will be out of your body soon, but the cravings will still be there.  Stay strong and stay quit, brother!

Name is Southern and from Georgia. I have been dipping for 5 years now.
I was a smoker and started dipping to quit smoking. Flash forward 5 years and I'm still dipping. One can a day. multiple brands but here recently Cope wintergreen.

I have a 1 year old son and do not want him to see me dipping and thinks it's ok. He grabbed my can the other day and was playing with it and that really bothered me.

I don't really know what to say here other than that reading thru other posts have motivated me more to go thru with this.

The toughest part is that everyone I work with dips/chews and I hope I can be strong enough not to cave.
Welcome Southern.

It was a big slap in the face for me when my boys (4 and 2) were pretending to dip, walking around spitting in cups and on the ground. Not the example I wanted to be setting.

It's tough when your coworkers chew. Try to think of it as they are simply choosing to kill themselves and are slaves to nicotine. You however are a strong son of a bitch who refuses to be a slave and is man enough to take charge of his life. To be there for his family.

Is it going to be hard? Fuck ya, the hardest thing you've ever done. But the rewards are so much greater.

You can do this. How do I know? Because there are thousands of people here that are doing it, and now your one of us.

PM me if I can help in any way.

Brian

Please ask any questions you may have.

Tell all your co workers you are quit.  If they offer you a can, take it from them and dump it or spit in it and say "Now do you know I am seriously fucking quit"
By the way I could stare at your avatar for hours
Mrs MikeA does not mind as long as you are quit!!
When I'm looking at MikeA's avatar, I have no idea what dip is! Just sayin!
I know right, I tried to instate a rule that every time he posted he had to post twice so we got the synchronized boob dancing thing going...

Sorry Mike, I didn't realize until after that post that those were 'in the family'...
Those are not Mike's wives titties.....he just meant that his wife didn't mind if we checked out "other" girls tits as long as we stayed Quit........

right?

Welcome Southern. Just hang in there and don't dip chew today. Its that simple man. After a few days, the worst of the physical symptoms will start to fade. Post roll. Trust me, I would not have made it these four days without posting roll.

wecome southern.

Arm yourself with information. The site is loaded with it.

1. Get a plan. What are you going to do when the craves kick in ?
2. Get some #'s. Buddies in your quit group, mine if you want. Someone to call when the shit gets deep. PM me and I'll give you mine.
3. Whatever you do, don't dip. Change your thought process. I don't dip anymore. In three days the nic will be out of your system, then you deal with the mind games. Help and support are all over the place, put em to use!
