Strong work on 4 days man, today is my first full day so things are going pretty good. I'm nervous about some of the headaches and stuff that I'm sure are on their way, I saw someone posting about mouth sores being common after quitting. Are you having anything like that?
I heard about the headaches. I haven't had any of those.
BUT! I have been feeling fucking spacey as hell! Almost dizzy!
I've been struggling with concentration to...
My mouth hurts, but mostly because I've been hittin the sunflower seeds
pretty hard!
I read about the foggy spacey feeling, it's crazy how dependent we can get on this stuff. Hang in there man

Excellent decision to quit brother!!! Welcome to freedom and the first day of the rest of your life!

There will be headaches and maybe some mouth sore and some fog - but this is our bodies punishing us for poisoning it for however long we used. You can mitigate these symptoms by drinking a shit ton of water (so much that you have to piss walking back from pissing). I would recommend a trip to the dentist to have a baseline checkup on record. This part can be scary but trust me, you will not regret it.

In regard to the KTC part, post your promise as you piss in the morning and just focus on keeping that promise for the next 24 hours. Share your digits with other quitters on this site - both people within your group and crusty vets like Pab. The sharing digits can be weird, but it's the only way to create a web of accountability that will support you in your cravings and share in your victories.

Some acronyms to help you out:

WUPP = Wake Up, Piss, Post
EDD = Every Damn Day
ODAAT = One Day at a Time
BAQ = Bad Ass Quitter
QLAMF = Quitting Like A Mother Fucker!

We can't control tomorrow so we quit for today, then rinse and repeat. Get a good hold of your nutsack and hunker down for the ride! Your success is ultimately up to you but the tools are here if you trust the system and buy in from Day 1.
Good call on the water, trying to get the hang of this forum stuff so I can navigate it a little better because I think the roll calls and messages will help out.

You posted roll, and that's the first step to success.

Treat your roll post as a solemn promise to everyone in your quit group, and everyone who posts support. The promise is that you will use no nicotine of any kind for the rest of the day. Then, do the same thing tomorrow and every single day afterward. If you are a man of your word, caving is not an option. Grab some digits from your fellow quitters, and reach out in emergency.

It's no secret that the first several days suck. We don't sugar coat that. We just promise that the days will get better, and that your addiction will become manageable at some point. But, you will never be cured. Why? Because you are an addict, just like I am, and just like everyone else here. We will always be addicts - clean addicts, but just one dip away from slavery to a little can of cat shit. Let me tell you as a former slave - freedom is sweet. KTC, and my daily promise acts as a wall between me and slavery, and I add another brick to that wall every day.
Thanks for the message, especially the slave to a can thing. That's what bugs me the most and is the reason I'm quitting. It's gotten pretty ridiculous.

Hey all, I'm a Firefighter/Paramedic and started chewing while on duty mostly to pass the time when bored or to unwind after a call. Fast forward 3 years and I'm a 1-2 can a day addict. I always prided myself in being motivated and self reliant, I'm quitting because I'm tired of feeling like I "need" a dip. I've tried quitting a couple times over the last year with little to no success. I've been reading some of the information on the KTC site and think this might work for me.
Welcome,
Today is my 4th day of being nic free.
It's kind of a weird feeling.
How's your day one going?
I'm reaching out to my fellow quitters because that's what they say to do!
