My name is Shawn. I've dipped 1-2 cans a day since I was 18, so I'm going on 11 years now. The only time I've "quit" was after gallbladder surgery, only to pick it right back up. Anyway, my wife is gone for the summer for work (she left on my quit date), so I figured this was the perfect time since I'll have one less person to get angry with. I had a 4-6 beer a night habit that I've dropped at the same time, so I'm definitely on edge and going through an adjustment period.
Days 1 and 2 were terrible. My weekend routine went something like this: waking up, running a mile, walking the dog, eating lunch, pacing to let the food digest, run another mile, come home, eat, toss and turn in the bed trying to sleep. The worst part for me is the foggy brain and extreme tiredness. Coffee doesn't touch this fatigue. Work seems to help take my mind off it, and luckily it's not a job I can freely dip at.
I'm going to stick to this and do it. Dipping is a waste of money, good teeth, and potentially life. The indigestion was getting the best of me also. I just want to thank you guys for doing this. I'm hoping it's just what I need to stick to my quit.
