Still here...day 3 is almost over. Sorry I have not posted, work is crazy. I appreciate the comments...and the support. I am planning on joining the November group, I am out of town till Monday, I will join full tilt then, and have a week under my belt. I just wish the Smoky Mountain stuff I ordered was here, my jaw is sore from chewing so much gum!!! I really have not had much problems, no funk. I had reduced my dipping to one dip day during the week, but I would do 3 or 4 a day on the weekends. Maybe that helped. This may be a mental thing, but I feel like I am sleeping better, even after 3 days. I have been getting a headache late everyday, but maybe thats just stress...like I said work is crazy. I recently got a promotion and a load of responsibility with it, I think if I can handle this without dipping, the rest would be a breeze!!!

Thanks again for the support!!

Guessing there was no day 2. This is just how is goes when you "try it again."

If any other potential quitter comes across this thread...or if by chance rob comes back I want this to be known:

Trying is having the intention to fail. When it comes to quiting, try is not in a serious mans vocabulary...don't try, DO.

Everyone here does not know how your fishing trip went. I went fishing in my first 20 days and I stayed quit. Guys have gone hunting, camping, hiking, fishing, drinking, poker, pool...and all stayed quit. It's your choice.

Also, you say you will "try", not the right attitude. You are either quit or not quit. It does not matter your day. I am 229 and someone on day 1 is just as quit as I am, 100% quit and no looking back.

I sure hope to see your post #2 Rob.

Welcome.... I too used Skoal Straight for the past 20 years. I'm using Smokey mountain herbal snuff to help my quit.... jump into the November group and post-up.

Welcome, man. It's hard, but it's worth it. You'll be amazed at how much more time you have in your life without wasting it on delivering nicotine to your brain.

Post roll, read up, be accountable to your quit brothers, and 100 days will go by in no time. It gets easier everyday.

Hello I am Rob, I have been dipping for almost 30 years. I have quit a few times, but never for that long. I am really tired of dipping, its time to quit. I did 10 days last month, but them a fishing trip came up, I am sure everyone here knows how that went. I am trying it again, if I cant do it cold turkey, I may try some of the herbal stuff...I dipped Cope for many years, but for the last 15 or so its been Skoal LC straight. The older I get it seems the more dipping seems to control my actions, I am just tired of it.
hey rob. great choice on quiting and joining the site. if you are a man of your word I can guarantee this will be your final quit.

Read 1-4 here

And then head on over to November and post up. keep your word for the remainder of today and then wake up and repeat tomorrow. you can do this...we all have...together, one day at a time.

Just a quick note on "cold turkey" fake herbal stuff does not contain nicotine...so if you use that you are still going about it cold turkey. Stock up on whatever it takes so you don't put that shit in your mouth....fake stuff, seeds, jolly ranchers, chewing gum.
