I don't know anything about hormone therapy. But aside from that, it sounds like you've got the hang of quitting alright! Well done...but check it out with your doctor.

Boy did I hit a brick wall on day 7. Woke up after a half ass sleep and I am feeling downright depressed. The whole day has been like this. But as I have read on the site this should vpass with time. Also I have a quick question. I am on testosterone therapy and was curious if that and my non nicotene body would have anything to do with my mood. Just curious if anyone would know. Guess I should call the doctor and ask him if it continues. Thanks fellow quitters.

I hear ya buddy. Work is the worst. 12 guys on my shift and half dip. Most of them are cool about keeping it somewhat out of sight but some are dicks about it. We just gotta roll with whatever little brain dicks do to get there kicks while someone is struggling quitting. I won't ever give in and I am quit bitches. (:

4th day still sucks but I am feeling more and more in control of my addiction with each passing day. Not as hard for me to ignore the craves I am getting constantely. It is really gratifying to get up every morning and post roll and to know I am not going to use nicotene anymore. Just feels good. Lots of support really helps to. Thanks to all the quitters who make this site what it is.
Good to hear you are doing well. Keep that guard up no matter how good you feel, the nic bitch; she is a sneaky one...

You cannot imagine how much better it is going to get.

See you at roll.

Proud to be quit with you,

Dale
We're with you Mepmey! Keep pushing through those craves.

I like to use jolly ranchers, peppermints, and chewing gum to work on the oral fixation.

For the physcial craves exercise helps, but you need to distract yourself. If you find yourself craving, change it up somehow. Like, if you were watching TV and get a craving, get up and do something else. I actually like cleaning. Its a positive distraction and the lady appreciates it when she gets home. I also get on the site and read, or text one of our quit brothers. Really helps knock down those craves.

Quit with you buddy, see you at roll bright and early tomorrow!
So I quit! I quit for me! Because I don't want to die, life is so much better without nicotine, and I want my honor back. I want to keep my word. I want to be the man I intend to be, and have my actions demonstrate my integrity. I want to live my ideals. And I will, one day at a time.

Craves will come and go, don't bother fighting them or trying to ignore them. Instead , acknowledge it and embrace it as the price your going to pay to earn your freedom. All craves pass, and no one ever died from one. Quit minute by minute if you need to, the minutes will tun to hours then days and months and years. There will be a time when you can't even remember what a crave feels like.

Sm
"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

I hear ya. It was all my fault putting that shit in my mouth not my wifes or kids. I am trying deep breathing when I get annoyed or the cravings and I have been doing burpees when it arrises. 10 -15 burpees and the craving passes for a bit. Little exercise does the body wonders.
Awesome to see someone excited about their quit. Use the adrenaline to fire up your quit and as motivation to stay active around here.

Just take a look at the other people who posted an introduction then failed to follow up on even a single step of the quit process. Scared, weak slaves who aren't willing to jump in the deep end to save their life.

Forgot to mention who I am. My name is Matt and I have been an addict for 20 plus years and ready to take my addiction by the balls and throw it out the window. I have noticed the past 2 days that my cursing just kinda slips out for no apparent reason. WTF My wife is not a real big fan of it. But I guess its better for my kids to hear a few curse words rather than daddy getting cancer. This site is great. Really what we need in these rough days ahead.
Your family didn't force poison in your pie hole. You did it. Don't take that shit out on them. Get on the boards and vent brother. Heck, I love a good cuss session.

Get some exercise. A tired soul is a soul at rest. Your animosity will diminish. Water - drink some. Get some good foods in ya. My approach was to enforce the quit by making good decisions all around. Exercise plus a good diet gets you some good sleep. Good sleep keeps you in a rational mind and less likely that you will drop a deuce on your boss' desk for after he asks you to work late. Fucker. Hate that guy.

Day 2 is pretty bad. I am like really freakin bored. The two things that does help alot is eating and working out. Me and my wife did a pretty hard workout then went for a short run afterwards. Did not have any cravings for about an hour or so after the run. Maybe just work out all day long. Well see. Ready to tackle day 2 and move into day 3.
