Dave, read some of the intro threads from the start; I bet you will not have to read more than a few before you realize there are quitters here with stories just like yours. Your intro title is a bit unfortunate as we here do not make attempts or try or hope for good luck; we just quit. We post roll every morning and promise not to use nicotine in any form for 24 hours, and then we keep our word. Not easy but simple. I can tell you that it does get better and is so worth it. There is knowledge and support here at KTC to help you, but you need to own your quit! Great decision to quit. PM me if you need anything.

Hey Dam. Welcome to the KTC quit train. I like to call it that because it is easy to get on the quit train , but it is a bitch to stay aboard at first. Since you did not quit the last time you wanted to, you merely refrained from using the crap for a few days. The nicotine bitch put those big tits back in your face and led you by the peter back into the store. She won that battle my friend. No excuses necessary like I was weak for a moment, I was fishing with my buddies, I was with the home boysÂ…we have heard them all beforeÂ…many, many times. What matters around here is that you want to quit for you. As you may gather, most of the 16,000 boys and girls on this site are pretty hard core quitters that donÂ’t want to listen to your reasons, excuses or rationale for using nicotine. And they wonÂ’t listen no matter how hard you sugar coat it. What they will do is provide you with the tools to quit and help you along that rough patch of track. They will be there for you every step of the way to freedom. They will be there when you are hurting, when you are in the suck, when you feel like raging, venting or just talking to someone on the phone. Around here, we call that Brotherhood. Join us and you too will become a part of that select family of quitters. Put it off and the regrets will continue.
Joining us means you will do a few things. First and foremost, you will post Roll. Roll is your daily promise to yourself and all of your new brothers and sisters that you will not use tobacco in any form that day. You will post your name and the number of days you are quit each day in the December 2013 quit group. Each and every day you will post your promise. No exceptions. That is the price of admission to KTC. Nothing more and nothing less. The reason you are put in December is that will be the month if you join us today that you will celebrate being 100 days free of nicotineÂ…your Hall of Fame date. Now that you know the basics, it is time to read all you can on this site. Go to the welcome center and that will get you started. Post roll and look up at your inbox (1). That is a personal message from me with my telephone number. Lets get your party started brother. Wayne

hello, first attempt to quit
« on: September 21, 2013, 01:11:00 AM »
Hello all, my name is Dave and I'm a dipaholic. Lol Came across this site the day I saw what made me decide to quit. Hope I can get some help, I need it.

I'm 30 years old and have been dipping since around middle school. Grew up playing baseball dipping. Also fishing. Tried smoking for a bit on and off but being around 2nd hand smoke turned me off to it. Anyhow haven't touched a cig in years. Pretty much have been dipping a tin and a half a day since I was 21.

Last Wednesday I was looking up car parts for my jeep on YouTube which led to watching puppies to watching vine clips to watching a Michael Jordan dunk montage to a vid of a guy with a half of a face. This guy said 4 years of dipping did it and now 20 years later he's still getting surgeries. I immediately threw my tin out and spit the lipper I had in out. Said a prayer for the guy in the video and myself. Called my pcp and got a referral to a ent. Got checked out this past Tuesday. I actually had a cancer screening through my dentist a year ago which came back negative. The ent doc ordered some X rays and have a follow up next week.

Any how the first 2 days I wanted to tear someone's head off. I was completely in edge as well as a ashamed of myself because I never thought I was actually addicted.
Thursday I f'd up and bought a tin while at work was having a very stressful day between the wife busting my balls, work, bills, etc. While constantly thinking about dip. I caved. But didn't open the tin until tonight. Threw a dip in and realized this is insane. Went fishing later on this evening and did 2 more with my buddy but didn't keep them in for more than 10 mins the first and 3-5 mins the second. Dumped the remainder in the ocean. Now my mouth and throat are on fire!!!

I am adamant that this stuff will never be in my body again. Had a good week and a half and messed it up. Never again!

Sunflower seeds, smokey mountain fake dip, jolly ranchers and trident helped a lot. But I constantly craved tobacco. After tonight I'm grossed out by it. Just do not want to cave again!!!! I live having a face too much!

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Nice to meet you all and hopefully you guys will help make the difference I need. Thanks in advance!!!! God bless you all!
