Frank, you ain't ready, bud. Every can will be your last, that is until you buy the next one. Come back when you're ready to dig deep, man.

In the meantime, and nothing against the wives of the posters on here, keep us posted on the quality of trim you can pull with a dip in your mouth and a spitter in your hand. My guess is you're pretty much relegated to fatties with 3+ kids. Hope you like hoggin' pal. Nice job running off your girlfriend, sounds like she really cared about you if she bought you some stuff to try to get you off the dip.
Ready or not he posted up Day 1 in June 13. Big first step, but remember this Frank, no matter how many steps you take in the quit, it only takes one slip for you to fall all the way back down. You're a young man.....only 22 years old. I wish I had quit when I was your age and I bet most of the guys on this site do too. Problem is, as a young man, you may still have those feelings of invincibility and the thought that it will never happen to you. To that I'd say you need to read, read and read some more on this site. There are several stories about the horrible things that tobacco use can do to the human body. You have an opportunity to prevent all of that by quitting now. Never let yourself forget what brought you here in the first place. As the old saying around here goes, "The day you forget Day 1 you lose."

Quit Like Fuck.

2 problems with that initial post, Frank:

1) Stop hoping. There is no "hope". There is "Quit." and there is "Not quit.". Pick one and stay with it.

2) This ain't an animal shelter. Forget about "forever quit". It's much too overwhelming to an addict. Quit for today. That is all we ask.

I'm not being a bully, just pointing out the mindset that was required for me. I've failed at quitting many times, but when I got my mind around the KTC method it has been successful. 24 hours at a time.

Reach out if you need anything.

are ya serious about quitting? if so, read the advice that's already been hand fed to you via the clicky links by BWB...

Let us know either way...folks here care, are commited to helping each other quit. Be a shame if all yer doing is wasting theirs and my time.....

So I think it's about time I quit dipping.  I'm 22 years old and have been dipping since I was 16.  I've tried numerous times to quit but I always fall into the same damn routine.  Stress usually drives me to start up again and just a few days ago, my girlfriend broke up with me.  Now it wasn't because I dipped but she would constantly be on my ass about quitting.  Just before she left me she sent me Jake's Mint Chew to help me quit.  (I'm sure you guys know but its both tobacco and nicotine free.) Anyway, I feel like I need to quit now because this breakup is bothering me but I don't want to get over her and THEN go through the stresses of quitting lip tobacco. So the way I see it, I should knock it all out in one shot.  I just hope that I can do it.  I'm looking forward to this.  Forever quit... Here I come.
Frank, quitting dip will be the hardest and most rewarding thing you've ever done. That being said if you don't have the fire driving you stress will get you again. Don't be fooled thinking that you can make the pain of quitting dip less by combining it with loss of a relationship. Mint snuff is a safe alternative and aid to quitting. Brace yourself quitting sucks!!
Wt is giving you some great advise and I will throw my $.02 in for shits.

Quit for you! It is not easy but it is doable, you will need some serious balls if you truly want to quit this nic bitch!

Next get your self some numbers and bulid your support team who will help you thru the very tough times, your support team will always be the ones to talk you out of that store or tobacco shop!

Last KEEP YOUR WORD! Post your promise every morning and keep your word I know it sounds way to simple to be tru but here I sit 386 days quit and enjoying kicking nic's ass one day at a time!

PM me if you need any help brother, and get ready for a fun, crazy, awesome ride!

You need to change your attitude, dude. Thinking and hoping is what pussies do. It will be hard, the hard will pass, and then it will be hard to stay quit. Life is hard in general. We don't need tobacco making it even harder. We're here for you, and we will always encourage you to nut up if needed. PM me - I'll be glad to give you my number

Well here is the deal with KTC, we are basically a cold turkey program, we don't utilize nicotine replacement therapy such as nicorette gum.

We come in each day and promise to our brothers that we will remain quit for the rest of the day, the next day we come and do the same thing.

People come in here and bust balls, they go in the chat and talk about the issues they are having, they call fellow quit group members and ask for help. We remain quit one day at a time.

We have milestones, the biggest and the first is reaching 100 days quit without NRT, this is called the Hall of Fame, the time when you reach HOF is your quit group so if you quit today you would be in the June 2013 group.

When in your group you post roll call, this is your promise to quit today, tomorrow you come in and repeat. Remember, we are addicts, we are junkies to nicotine, it takes a strong will and assistance to stay quit.

Here is the welcome center
index.php?showforum=13

Here is how to post roll call
index.php?showtopic=50

And a little video on how to post roll call
http://www.killthecan.org/roll/

Here is the June quit group
index.php?showtopic=7913

Welcome to our group, if you buy into the program it can save your life.

Stay quit my friend.
