As of 03-25-2009 I am no longer a 2 can a day Copenhagen addict. These past 5 days have been terrible. No sleep, an emotional disaster, and just down right mean. The people who love me have been there, and this site has helped me over the last 5 days to negotiate myself out of relapse. I just needed to post something, it makes me feel better.

If you can make it 5 days you have it beat. Day number two is by far the worst.

thanks.

George
Hi George, and Welcome!

Always glad to have another friend along on the journey.

I'm on day 15, and yeah it has definitely gotten easier, it still ain't fun, but it's a little easier. Day 3 was hell for me, although day 2 was no picnic.

Anyway, congrats on day 5! Stick with us. Post Roll. Post more stuff. Stay in touch. It helps all of us when you do.

jeepgdub,

Welcome bro, you've made a great decision. Congratulations on making it to day 5, nice work.

Take your quit one day at a time, just because you make it "x" amount of days doesn't automatically put you in the safe zone. Every day is a test, pass that test one day at a time. There have been plenty of people that thought they were quit well beyond 5 days and caved. My point is, this is and will be a daily battle. Win that battle one step at a time and don't look back.

Stay close to the site, post roll everyday and hold yourself accountable. If you are having difficulties, come here and speak up. There are plenty of us here that will help, we know what it's like trying to beat this shit and some times it's not easy at all. Main thing is stay strong and true to yourself, you deserve it!

Mad props. to you and your quit! Keep it going!

Stay Strong-Stay Quit!

Fighting an addiction by yourself is hard enough, but fighting it with others who know what you?re going through and will fight side by side with you makes that battle a hell of a lot easier.

Tell yow what, brother: Let me know how I had this thing beat at day 5, and I'll give you my 401(k).

Actually, that's worth about seventy cents right now, so forget it. But you know what I mean...At Day 5, the physical withdrawal starts to pull back. But I am fearing that the rest of the addiction will take measurably longer to remedy. More accurately, I'm pretty sure I'm eternally fucked. I'll definitely have more good days/moments than bad, but this shit is gonna follow me around for the rest of my life, just like alcohol does.

But anyway: Big congrats on how far you've come. Let's go further.

  • Interests: as of 03-25-2009, I stopped a 2 can a day Copenhagen addiction. I enjoyed every aspect of the habit. I did not quit because I no longer enjoyed tobacco, or that it was causing health problems. I stopped because it is selfish, and I want nothing more than to see my daughter get married. This has been a battle against myself.
