Welcome Steve. You're going to go through a lot of tough times. Take it day by day, hour by hour. It will get easier. Post early, post often. Ask questions, get cell numbers and participate in live chat. When I started, 100 seemed a long way off. I got though it, and so will you. PM if you need anything. Be strong.

congrats. Don't underestimate the power of a single day of quit. If you can do one day, you can do them all. One day at a time.

"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

Welcome to the party. Best decision you have made in awhile !! Some advice early.

1. Stay close to the site. Spend your time reading and getting to know how we do what we do.

2. Go to the store and get some water, juice, seeds, gum, candy, straws, toothpicks, fake snuff and get ready to ride out the suck.

3. Stay away from your old gas station, pay at the pump, stay away from your old hang outs, stay away from your old dipping buddies and avoid alcohol. Let EVERYONE know you are now a quitter.

4. Get some names and numbers of quitters in your group. Start making yourself known and build accountability.

5. Post roll FIRST thing every day, no excuses.

Glad you are here. I was you three years ago. It CAN be done, we do it daily.

STAY QUIT

Hello everyone. My name is Steven Mangus. I have been a dipper since I was 15 and now that Im 37 I know its time to quit. I tried this several times. I could do it for a week, maybe a month, but I always went back telling myself "you are strong enough for just one now" I know now thats a lie. I am pledging to you all, I am starting today, dip/nic free. I know this is just day one and the next few days are going to be HELL!!!! I know I can get through this with the support from everyone at kill the can. You guys have already been here and done that and I am looking forward to the support I know I can and will get here.

Thanks,

Steve
Mangus, we met up in Chat earlier today.

Welcome to the freak show.

Like we said earlier, stick around, you can do this.

1. Post Roll.

2. Keep your Word.

3. Repeat.

Shoot me a PM if you need anything.
