Hang in there guys.

It varies from person to person how long the "suck" lasts, but it will go away eventually.
You just have to take a breath and deal with it on a day to day basis.

Jeff, check in the upper right hand corner of the page and you will see an Inbox link. Click it and it will take you to your personal inbox here on KTC. I sent you a PM a while ago and copied a quitter that lives in Ketchikan, who is on day 60 I believe. Anyway, she will help you as will all of us. PM me after you post roll and I will be glad to give you my number so that we can talk about your quit, what to expect, etc. It will not be easy, but the hard things in life dont come easy, do they? Stay committed, stay strong, drinks lots of water and get some exercise. Your body is cleansing itself of the nicotine and your brain is re-routing the neurons that have been helped with nic for a long time. Sleep will return to better than you can remember soon. Remember, it is One Day At A Time in here. Best of luck and congrats on your decision to quit. Go Iditarod!!

Greetings to you too brotha! Not sure how coherent my intro was. Haven't slept in two days now. Just can't get relaxed enough to zonk out. Is the sleep deprivation usually this brutal?
Yes.

Heffski, Most nights have been shitty for me. Couple nights I woke up sweating my ass off. If your cell phone works shoot me or anyone else a text each morning and we will post roll for you. You have to make a promise every day to quit. Check out the quit page and you will understand what I mean. We will keep beating this thing every day. PM me if you need someone to post roll on your behalf.

Also just a quick disclaimer. I may not be able to post roll every single day as I have to drive twenty minutes to get internet access, since I live in a ten by twelve cabin without water in the woods in Alaska with a VW golf (bad car for snow) and the spring breakup is coming, meaning I'll probably get stranded when the ground gets super sloppy. So if I miss a post don't worry I'll be back on within the next few days. I'm in this for the long haul, for my brother, for my family, for my lover, and for all of you. We WILL beat this thing.

I slept like total shit last night even though I was exhausted. I have to chalk it up to the withdrawals. I "used" to dip 1/2 to 3/4 of a tin a day. I'm on day 2 myself.

Jeff,

Great decision and great job on three days quit. I just finished my first week without dipping and I owe it to KilltheCan. Be sure to check out the welcome center link at the top of the page and post roll with the June Quit Group.

I then proceeded to go outside, drenched the remainder of the can in lighter fluid, and sparked it off. Now normally I wouldn't condone burning plastic, but damn it felt good.
Congratulations. Congratulations to your brother, too.

I like the firey funeral ceremony. The environment will recover. As for what to call you, I'll just call you quit.

9 years of the nic bitch

Hey, I'm Jeff, you can call me Heffe, Heffski, or Jeff, whatever ya want, twenty three years old, living in Fairbanks AK. Anyhoo I'm on day 3 of my quit and feeling the hurt, bad. Can't sleep, can't shit, can't function worth a damn. But ya know what? I'm loving it! Been chewing for nine years, about a 3/4 can per day. Got started on that god damn candy dip (skoal apple) when I was fourteen. Not marketed to kids my ass! What got me to finally say 'Finger' to the nic bitch was my younger bro. He's my go to dude for those hard moments when I want to drive twenty minutes to the nearest gas station to get a fix at 2am. He's on day twenty of his quit, and handling it better than I am, that's for sure.

Last can I chewed was skoal straight. He called me, told me he was off the old mouth candy. At that moment I realized what a F#*KTARD I'm been for not doing this sooner. I then proceeded to go outside, drenched the remainder of the can in lighter fluid, and sparked it off. Now normally I wouldn't condone burning plastic, but damn it felt good.

Well that's it for now, three days quit, taking it a day at a time.
