SDQ - you touched on a something that I wanted to expand on...your comment about "looking forward to Day 2."
First, nothing wrong with that. But be careful to not get ahead of yourself early on. In my previous failed attemps, I would get overwhelmed at the thought of quitting forever...or until next week or next year or whatever. One thing that helped me was the "one day at a time" mentality. I wasn't quitting forever, just for today. For some strange reason, that made it easier at first.
See, you can't change the past. What's done is done. And nobody knows the future. Don't worry about what you cannot control. Just focus on today. We'll deal with tomorrow when it gets here.
This is as much for you as for any other newbies. "One day at a time" cut the problem down to a size I could deal with. Like the joke about how to eat an elephant...one bit at a time. That's how you should approach your quit.
